Jungkook's POV

From the corner of my eye, I caught the smug expressions on the faces of the girls sitting with Jin and Yoongi hyung. They might have been worried about Jimin, but there was no denying they were enjoying this. The tension, the drama as it was their entertainment for the night.

Jin hyung looked mildly amused. He found this whole situation amusing while Yoongi hyung's expression remained unreadable like always but deep down I know he is enjoying it too.

"You don't get to talk to me like that." she shot back, her voice steady despite the anger. "I work hard, and I do my job well. If you have a problem with my work, why did you have me transferred here in the first place?"

My smirk widened, and I leaned back in my chair, crossing my arms over my chest. Oh! I was eagerly waiting for her to burst. "Feisty. I like that. But let me give you a piece of advice, sweetheart. In this world, it's not about how hard you work. It's about who you know, and who you can suck up to."

"Suck up to?" She repeated, her eyes narrowing.

"Yes." I said keeping my tone casual, as if we were discussing something as mundane as the weather.

Her expression hardened, and she took a small step forward, her chin lifting defiantly. "What makes you think I'd want to suck up to you, Mr. Jeon?" Her voice dripped with sarcasm, each word laced with disdain.

I couldn't help the laugh that escaped me. I loved the way she stood her ground. Placing my hand on my chin, I pretended to be deep in thought, narrowing my eyes slightly as if I was seriously considering her question.

"Wait..." I mused, leaning forward to rest my elbows on my knees, my gaze never leaving hers. "Well, I think you already did that. Sweetheart" I said, my voice dropping to a teasing whisper. I let the silence stretch out, watching her reaction with keen interest.

Her eyes widened in surprise, her confidence faltering for the briefest moment as she took a step back, her mouth opening and closing as if she was struggling to find the right words. The tables had turned, and I relished in the power shift.

I chuckled, the sound low and mocking as I watched her struggle to regain her composure. "Cat got your tongue, sweetheart?" I taunted, my voice laced with amusement.

"I—" she stuttered, her confidence wavering as her cheeks flushed with frustration. "That's not what happened!" she said, her voice faltering.

"What?" I asked, feigning surprise as I leaned in closer, my eyes narrowing with mock curiosity. "Are you saying you don't remember?"

"It was a misunderstanding." she insisted, but her voice wavered slightly, betraying her unease.

"Oh, is that what you're calling it?" I leaned back in my chair, letting out a low, mocking laugh. "A misunderstanding."

"Mr. Jeon—" she began again, trying to regain control of the conversation, but I cut her off with a sharp, dismissive gesture.

"No." My tone was firm, brooking no argument. "Don't make excuses. You wanted to 'suck up' to me, as you so eloquently put it."

"No, I didn't!" she snapped, her eyes blazing with anger now. "You're the worst." she spat, her voice trembling with barely contained fury.

"And you were the best." I teased, my laughter echoing through the room, savoring the way she bristled at my words.

"Shut up." she growled, her fists clenching at her sides as she took a step closer, her eyes locked on mine.

"Make me." I challenged, my smirk widening as I watched her struggle to keep her composure.
