Alba's POV

You stood there, your breath still trembling from the kiss, but it wasn't the kiss that left you shaken. It was his words. They echoed in your mind, each syllable a reminder of all the things you wanted to believe but couldn't. Not after everything. Was this what you wanted?

You opened your mouth to respond, but no words came out. That feeling inside you now felt brittle, like it could break at the slightest touch. Before you could make sense of it, the door creaked open again. Aina's voice sliced through the quiet, cutting right through the fragile balance you were barely holding onto.

"Alba, what's going on?" She asked, her eyes darting between you and Jungkook, narrowing with suspicion.

Your chest tightened. A lump formed in your throat as you stepped back. You could feel your heart racing, a confusing mix of panic and guilt swirling within you. Jungkook was still standing there, and Aina's stare weighed heavy. You weren't ready for this. Not now. Not like this.

"I-" you stammered, shaking your head, feeling like you were on the edge of a cliff, the ground crumbling beneath your feet. What were you even going to say?

"He's leaving," she said firmly, stepping forward, her confidence cutting through the tension. She glanced at Jungkook with a look that dared him to argue. "Now."

Jungkook raised his hands in surrender, his gaze flicking between the two of you, searching your face for, reassurance, forgiveness, anything. "Okay, I'll go." His voice was quiet, almost resigned. He turned but hesitated, looking back at you with disappointment shadowing his eyes. "I'll wait for you."

"Jungkook..." you whispered, the word barely escaping your lips, almost inaudible. But he heard it. His hand froze on the doorknob, though he didn't turn around.

"I meant what I said," he murmured. "I'm not giving up."

The door clicked softly as he left, and the room felt suddenly too quiet. Too heavy. You stood there, motionless, trying to process everything. But nothing made sense. You couldn't think past the anger, the bitterness that surged to the surface. Aina was already by your side, her arms crossed, her expression a mixture of frustration and concern.

"What the hell was that?" she asked, her voice sharp but laced with concern.

You didn't have an answer. Or rather, you had too many, none of which made sense. You sank onto the couch, burying your face in your hands. Everything was a mess.

She sighed, her frustration palpable. "Alba, you can't let him back in," she said again, her voice softer now, but firm. "Not after what Jimin did to you. Not after how he left."

"I know," you whispered, but even as the words left your mouth, they felt hollow.

At the mention of Jimin's name, something twisted in your chest, the pain sharp and immediate. You hadn't allowed yourself to fully confront what Jimin's abandonment had done to you, but you felt it every day. He hadn't just left you; he had torn something inside you, something you didn't even know if you could fix. And some part of you always blamed him for it. He knew what abandonment did to you, and still, he did the same thing. How could you ever let yourself trust someone again after that?

Aina wrapped her arm around your shoulders, pulling you close. "He doesn't deserve your love or your forgiveness, Alba. Not after what Jimin did."

The rage bubbled up, an old, familiar pain you had been carrying for too long. Jimin's face swam in your mind again, his smile, his promises, the way he made you believe you could trust him. And now, Jungkook stood there, offering you the same promises, and all you could feel was anger.
