20th August 2019:
"Dad, what are we doing?" Althea asks the max as they drive up to the Porsche motor centre. "You know if you think about it, this should be in Germany, as Ferdinand Porsche was German," Althea tells her dad. "Yeah, I never did understand why it has been in England for as long as it has." James nods. "But when a Porsche driver wins the Grand Prix the German national anthem is played so, that's as close as home as it is going to get." The TV presenter shrugs.
"You still haven't answered my question, buddy." Althea looks at her dad as he turns the car engine off. "I thought it would be nice to pop in. I mean you are a part of the Porsche drivers academy. And as you are in England why not do it now." James undoes his seatbelt. "Wait we are not here because Harvey wants to kick me out of the program is he?" Althea leans back in her seat.
"Why must you always think the worst?" James shakes his head. "Because if I expect something bad to happen then I won't be disappointed and if I think the worst but it was good, I'd be happy with myself. So really, it's a win-win situation." Althea shrugs, getting out of the car. "Althea May, I'm glad to see you." Harvey Kay walks out of the motor centre. "Hello, Mr Kay." Althea straightens up and smiles at her boss.
"Come on, we've known one another too long for you to call me by my last name. Harvey is good." The retired Formula One Driver smiles. "Sorry, I'm not usually nervous. It's just you're the boss and you could fire me at any time, and just take me out of the Porsche Program." Althea smiles slightly. "Is she always this negative?" Harvey looks at James. "Yeah, she needs more faith in herself." The Top Gear presenter nods.
"Are you sure you are not dropping me from this program?" The adopted girl wipes her hands on her trousers, as she feels them getting sweaty. "I can assure you I'm not doing that, Althea." Harvey smiles, as he opens a drawer in his office and pulls out a piece of paper. "I'm here to see if you'll sign this?" The Team Principal slides the paper across the desk.
"Am I reading this right? I left my glasses in the car. Does this say Porsche contact?" Althea pulls the paper closer to her face. "Yes, it does." Harvey nods. "As in, you want me to race for you, next year?" Althea lets out a breath. "Yes, Althea. You are an incredible driver and we would love to have you on the team." The man smiles. "You can think about it if you want," Harvey says.
"Nope, no thinking needed." Althea nods, grabbing the pen that lays next to her and signs where she needs to. "Okay great. I thought you'd need to think about it." Harvey laughs, opening his desk drawer. "No, this is a dream, and I need to drive I won't be able to race in Formula Two next year when I win the championship." Althea shrugs. "Okay, we are going to talk about how this is going to work okay." Harvey smiles at the eighteen-year-old. "Alrighty boss man." Althea nods.
"Hi, Alth... okay." Lewis nods watching as the girl runs past him and straight to Roscoe and Coco. "Hello, babies." Althea puts her bag on the sofa and sits on the floor laughing as the two dogs bark and run around her. "Hey, Lewis." She smiles up at the Formula One driver as he looks down at her. "Hello Althea, what do you want to tell me?" The world champion crosses his arms with a smile.
"How do you know I have something to tell you?" The girl raises an eyebrow. "Because I know you, and you keep touching your hair." The man smiles. "I'm driving for Porsche next year." She tells him as she stands up. "Althea, congratulations. This is amazing news." Lewis gasps opening his arms to hug the girl. "Why don't you look happy about that?" The six-time world champion steps back and analyses the girl's face.
"No, it's not that I'm not happy, because I am. I'm ecstatic to be racing in Formula One, especially for Porsche. It's my dream to be able to do this. It's just... I've been at Prema since two thousand and sixteen, apart from two thousand and seventeen when I went to R-ace, did I tell you I hated that year? The only person I liked was Max Fewtrell." Althea huffs sitting on the sofa.
"Okay, T. You're going off-topic so please tell me what you were going to tell me." Lewis laughs slightly. "Sorry buddy. I do that a lot." Althea shrugs. "I'm aware Althea, I've known you for years." The man nods. "Anyways, Prema is all I know, I'm going into a whole new world if you think about it. Like a new team a whole new grid. And I much bigger audience." Althea lists things that are changing.
"Yes, and that's what happens." Lewis nods. "I guess what I'm trying to say is I'm scared. Okay, and I don't express when I'm scared a lot of the time okay? And I don't like feeling scared because it makes me feel like I can't control my body. And in the end, it just makes me mad. And I'm fed up with always feeling mad because when I'm mad I cry. I hate crying, Lewis." Althea wipes at her eyes as she feels tears gather in them.
"T." Lewis smiles sadly sitting next to her and hugging her. "What if people don't like me? Or they hate on me for being a girl? Or they hate me because..." Althea rambles making Lewis cut her off. "Althea, listen to me okay, because no matter what happens you know you'll have me, Daniel, and Lando to speak with. You'll never be alone." The man tells her.
"And I'm not going to sugarcoat it everyone gets hate. You will also get hate, okay. But you can't let that affect you okay? Like you will be a nineteen-year-old, making millions. They are all lowlifes who like to hate on people because they're jealous and insecure so they project it onto other people." Lewis nods. "But..." Althea begins to say. "No buts Althea May. You are amazing at what you do and you always will be." Lewis points at her.
"I guess you're right." Althea shrugs. "I'm always right," Lewis smirks. "Okay, don't get cocky Lewis. Or I'm going to be having words with Toto, so we don't have you being a dick to your teammate again." Althea shakes her head. "Now that was Nico's fault." Lewis shrugs. Althea turns to the man and glares at him. "Okay. That was mainly my fault." Lewis shakes his head. "It was both of your faults. You both had fat ass egos." Althea scoffed.
"Okay I haven't said anything but, I can't ignore it anymore." Lewis shakes his head and holds up the girl's left hand and points to the ring that sits on her finger. "I'm engaged." Althea smiles. "But you're eighteen." Lewis raises an eyebrow. "And I have been with him since I was fifteen. I'm almost nineteen, buddy." Althea pats his hand. "Who?" The British man wonders. "None of your business. But he's very kind and treats me like the princess I am." Althea tells him.
"Okay now tell me everything that's going on with Amelie and Lando." Lewis pulls out some food from his fridge. "Oh my... Lewis, I have so much tea to spill." Althea pulls the chair out and sits down. "So they still like each other right?" Lewis nods. "Dude, none of them ever stopped loving each other. They just sealed it away. But I'm moving back around September, but I'm bringing Am to Monza and I'm praying that they bump into each other." The teenager reveals her master plan to the man.
