LAMINES POV

there the boy sat, in the back of the familiar van on his way to yet another destination with his friends on this rollercoaster of a vacation.

his girlfriend however had been left behind, which was her decision. the two had exchanged a few words earlier during the car journey home about a touchy subject.

during the day lamine had noticed how much time alicia spent with hector and to his suprise he felt jealousy and animosity towards his teammate but he finally had a glimpse of what it must be like for her seeing him and alex together all the time.

hector and alicia had always been close friends but before she left for brasil it was mainly lamine, as the two would frequently go out together.

due to his relationship the girl had obviously been respecting boundaries and distancing herself which he respected but couldnt reciprocate.

the two girls being friends was worse, having to watch somone you were falling inlove with become close with someone you have always loved sent his mind into a frequent spiral.

he couldnt help his feelings toward alicia but he tried his best to stay loyal towards alex but small comments were often exchanged between the two when she eventually found the confidence to speak to him.

hector had invited them all to another party but nico explained how he would prefer if alicia didnt come.
momentarily she found out and had tagged along anyway.

lamine tried his hardest not to look at the girl but he couldnt help but realise she was wearing a stunning pink dress, with bows highlighting her natural hair.

the boy couldnt be mad at her for simply talking to hector but the way her face lit up when alex attempted to boost her confidence made him question if she really did still like him like he thought she did.

so there he sat at the table amongst the three before his two bestfriends left to buy drinks, leaving him and alicia alone, again.

"so whats with you and hector" he allowed himself to ask.
"theres no me and hector" the girl explained while screwing her face.

"ive seen the way you look at him alicia" he explaimed causing his eyes to roll.
"oh have you now" she replied sarcastically.

"just dont go there" he attempted to warn her.
"que? whys that?" she questioned allowing her native language to flow into conversation.

"hes just not good for you" lamime explained, pulling out his phone so he had an excuse not to maintain eye contact after his risky comment,
"and what? you are" she said with attitude, causing the boy to sit upright.

she hadnt regarded the comment as much he did and quickly returned to her phone but it played around in his mind.

he knew he was better for him than hector, but if hector made her happy that was all he wanted.

once again she spent the night by hector side as lamine watched from afar as she got introduced to his close friends.

nico had walked off towards a group of girls he thought he recognised, leaving sohaib and lamine.

"mi hermano whats wrong?" he asked curiously.
"nothing" he replied blankly.
until after what felt like years the night came to a swift close.

walking through the doors of their villa, lamine took himself straight to his bedroom after nearly being convinced to play a game of table tennis by sohaib.

as he made his way up the small flight of stairs he hoped to just enter his bedroom and go to sleep, but being the caring person he was he decided to check on alex.

the two girls' bedroom was two doors away from his and sohaibs, nicos being inbetween, and he hadnt been in there before.
making his way inside he immidiately noticed the clear division in the room.

alex had the side closest to the balcony with the vanity whereas alicia had the side closest to the door with a long standing mirror.
her makeup and various outfits were still covering the floor as she mustve been in a rush before they left.

"lamine?" alex asked, while walking into her room.
"alex i was just looking for you" he spoke quickly before turning and facing her.

"what are you doing in here?" she asked defensively.
her hair was tied up in a small bun and she looked like she hadnt got much sleep.
"just making sure you was okay" he explained as she walked towards her side of the room to tidy.

"alicia is downstairs" she said huffing while folding a pair of clothes.
"alicia? what does any of this have to do with alicia" the boy asked.

"what does this not have to do with alicia, come on lamine be honest with me ive seen the way you two look at eachother its obvious" she exclaimed.
"whats obvious" lamine questioned walking closer towards her.

"that you like her" alex spoke dropping the items of clothing she held.
"por favor ella es como una hermana para me" he defended.
[ please shes like a sister to me ]

"and the only reason you wont go there is because of your friendship with nico" she reinforced causing no more words to escape from lamines mouth.

the boy was tired, his mind was completely and utterly spun and alex' drama was the cherry on top.

after all he couldnt blame her, before alicia returned their relationship was going beautifully but lici threw a spanner in the works.

alex wasnt a stupid girl so he wasnt suprised about her realisation but in that moment the thought of losing her heavily outweighed the distant idea of a possible relationship with alicia.

how she acted with hector, it mirrored how she used to act with lamine himself further reminding him of what he had lost.

he knew back then he made her happy.
so if hector, his team mate, could get the same reaction out of the girl lamine couldnt help but feel a small ounce of happiness for the two.

and for now he would just have to love her from afar.
