Samatha went to work the next day as usual, going through her normal daily routine. The week ended and the weekend came and she did not see the creepy guy. Most likely he had realised he had made a mistake and gone his way.
She felt a little more relaxed and less paranoid. Samantha decided that she'd take the kids to the park, because she was feeling like she needed to get out and just relax and enjoy herself with the kids.
When she got there, she pushed them in their pram to the perfect spot and spread a cute blanket. It was perfect. Samantha watched them explore the playground, discovering things and playing in the sand. She could see their distinct personality. They weren't identical twins, although they did look alike. Saint was a little more rambunctious, liking to rough house and wrestle. While Shevon was more reserved and snuggly. It was a joy just sitting and watching them.
After being so caught up watching them, Samantha took a deep breath and looked at the sky and the trees. She looked back at the twins and there was the stranger standing not too far away and her heart jumped into her throat. Samantha felt a sudden rush of fear and anxiety. Why was he there, and watching the kids? She got up quickly and rushed to the twins, hugging them to her, looking around quickly to see if there were others around, but the park was empty except for the four of them.
"I'll call the police. Why are you here?" She backed away, trying to stay calm, even though his eyes were still fixed on the twins. She had to stay level headed, although she felt threatened by his presence.
"They're beautiful." He whispered.
Samantha watched him taken aback by his comment, and her heart skipped a beat. Not wanting to engage, she kept her distance, eyes trained on him. "What do you want?"
"My child."
Samantha froze, her heart pounding in her chest. She looked at him with disbelief and anger. "Your Child ?" She repeated what he said, between clenched teeth, still inching back with the kids.
"Look, this woman must really look like me, and I sympathized that you lost her, and your child. I'm not her though. "Samantha said firmly, but with a hint of compassion. This is the second time you came and you're scaring the kids and I. Can you leave us alone?"
The man stood there, his face filled with confusion and despair. He looked from Samantha to the children, their eyes wide with curiosity.
"I'm sorry," he said, his voice barely a whisper. "I ... I just thought..."
"You thought wrong, now, please, leave us alone. We're not who you think we are. We're just a typical family trying to live our lives."
Samantha reached down to place somethings back in her bag and on doing so one of the twins turned his head revealing the red birthmark. She shrieked in alarm when the guy rushed up on her and took the child.
