"Samantha!" His mom came and held her by the shoulders. "Don't leave. I apologize for my son's behaviour."
Noah leaned against the door frame. "Don't apologize for me mom. I'm doing the right thing."
"Noah, shut up." His mom said. "Come Samantha, let's see how we can work things out."
Samantha let their mom lead her back inside. They went to the livingroom instead of back to the dining room and their mom sat right next to her holding her hands. Everyone had gathered there.
Their father sternly told the twins to have a seat. "We're not going to judge anyone here. We just want to know what's going on." Their dad said.
"I think they are both in love with her." Their mom said.
Noah looked at his hands.
"What I want to know is why do you have Samantha in the middle of this being pulled back and forth. Are you pregnant love?" Their mom proceeds to ask and Samantha nodded. "Who's really the father?" Their mom continued.
They both said together ... "Me."
Their dad spoke up. Seems he was a man of few words but when he said something it counts. "You know that a paternity test would be required. "You can't both be the father and we don't want to confuse the child like that. I thought you boys to be responsible. How did this happen? Did you use protection? Is she on the pill?"
The twins nodded.
"Then somebody didn't do the right thing." One of you messed up." He watched them both. "I know you two want to do right, because you care about Samantha, but you're hurting her at the same time. She's the one who would have to decide who she really wants to be with inspite of who the father is and the next one would have to respect that and move on. Samantha which of my son's are you in love with?"
All eyes were on her.
"Mr Hardin. Right now I just want to focus on having this baby. I'm so confused. I know how this looks to you, that I was with both of them but I have feelings for them both. And I haven't sorted through my feeling to decide which I really love, although I did accept Liam's proposal. But I think now, I'll give him back his ring." She took off the ring and placed it in Liam's palm, closing his fingers around it.
Liam started to protest but his dad held up his had to stop him.
"It's the right thing to do." She looked at him. "I need some time. I'll do the paternity." She looked at Noah.
"And what will happen to doctor's visits if the father wants to be there?" Their dad asked.
"They could both come if they wish to or take turns, until the paternity is done."
"Honey paternity testing can be done while you're pregnant. You know that right?"
"It can?"
Their mom nodded. "In the first trimester from seven weeks."
"We'll do it, mom just find the place for us." Noah said eagerly.
