"So what are you going to do? Are you going to take us to court for custody?" Samantha's question, direct and to the point, hangs in the air between them as they sat in the in Noah's car.

"Samantha, he's my son, and although I don't want to put him through anything too traumatic, I can't ignore my role as his father. So yes, I'm going to consider the necessary legal steps to be a part of his life. I want to know my son. I missed three years." Noah felt a swell of emotion as he explained, searching for understanding in her eyes.

"I know, but let's wait until I confront Shaun and hear what he has to say." She pleaded with him. " I don't even know how to start this whole conversation with him."

"I get it. You want to hear him out and address this directly, but I think you should ask to see the marriage certificate first."

"I saw it, It looks official."

Noah's face tenses with the revelation. "That doesn't mean it is. People are really good at manipulating and forging documents now. The only way to know for sure is to check the official records at the registry department and see if your marriage is registered. I can go with you."

"She nodded." You're right. There's a difference between a document looking official and it being legal, and if it isn't, that changes everything.

"Samantha, if the marriage certificate looks genuine, then there is no doubt that Shaun went through great lengths to decieve you. So the registry department is the best step. You also need to see your medical files of what happened around the time of the accident. It can provide clarity on if it really happened. If Shaun withholds information, your medical files could show what he did or didn't do during your recovery."

Samantha studied him as he talked noticing things, she didn't before. She had never really stopped to watch him carefully, until now. His Adam's apple bobbed attractively as he spoke, and there was an intensity to his eyes that drew her in. She didn't know what happened, but it was like her eyes were open. Things about Noah she never noticed before she was. He was really handsome in a strongly masculine way, and she couldn't
help but appreciate the strong lines of his face. There wasn't a hint of weakness, and the same magnetism she felt with Shaun she felt with him. Samantha felt a warmth in her cheeks from the spark of attraction that flickered within her.
