Samatha's maternal instincts flared up, and the air was thick with tension. She shifted Savon on her hip and stepped towards the guy, fear in her eyes. "Give him to me!" She demanded with a shaky her voice, reaching for the child he held. "You have no right to touch my child or take him from me."
He was examining the child's neck, totally ignoring her. "He has my birthmark." He whispered, looking towards her, his eyes filled with a mix of emotions.
"Look, it's just a birthmark. Some people have it coincidentally in the same spot. Please.....give me, my child."
"Samantha. This is my child. He even looks like me."
Her panicked eyes moved from him to Saint. There was a resemblance, but that could just be coincidental. Her eyes started to tear up because she just wanted her child back, who was presently wiggling around. "Please."
He stared at her teary face then back at the child. Her distress must have struck a chord of reason in him, for he handed the child back to Samantha reluctantly.
She gave a cry of relief, taking the child quickly and hugged them both to her. Her chest heaving as tears ran down her face.
"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to upset you but I feel the same way. I don't know what happened Samantha but we were engaged to be married and you were pregnant with the twins. Then you disappeared for three years. We really need to talk."
Samantha's relief was palpable as Noah watched her cuddle the kids, her emotions pouring out in the form of tears. She kissed their heads and they snuggled into her, responsive to their mother's emotions. "You're okay." She whispered more to reassure herself than them.
"I keep telling you, we're not the people you're looking for." She sighed caressing the twins tenderly. "But I'm willing to listen."
"We can talk at the resturant I'm opening." He said, watching one of the twins, his son, because he was the one with the birthmark, dig in her top for breast.
"No I want to get the twins home and I'd prefer a more public place. I'll meet you at Zac's Grill House at 5pm. "
His eyes drifted to Saint again, watching him longingly, and then nodded.
Samantha made to leave but stopped and addressed him again. "Promise me, you'll leave us alone after we talk."
He stared at her for a long while. "I can't promise that." What I have to tell you is the truth and I know for a fact he's my child, and I'm not leaving this alone."
"They are twins. Why are you focusing on one child?"
"Because they may be twins, but we both know they are not identical. Saint is mine and his twin is my brother's. My brother and I are also twins."
Her mouth fell open and she just stared at him, while the twins played with each other in her arms.
"I'll of course meet you at Zac's at 5pm, and tell you everything you need to know." She watched him, still with her mouth open, walk away.
