Samatha was home a while now. She had collected the kids, and they were now in their playpen having fun with their toys.

Shaun wasn't due home for the next three hours. That left her with plenty of time to think. Watching the kids and the normalcy of the moment contrasted so much with the turmoil that was going on within her.

Samantha's mind was racing with the information Noah provided about her supposed to be past. If it were true, what would it mean? Her whole life would change as well as the kids. All that she thought she knew about herself, life, and family would be a lie. Someone would have lied to her. Her heart squeezed in her chest at just the thought of Shaun lying to her. Shaun wasn't like that. He loved her endlessly. What Noah said couldn't be true, but there was a nagging feeling that it was.

Samantha went back over the recurrent thoughts she was struggling with and the internal dialogue that wouldn't stop. If she trusted what Noah said, she'd have to accept that she was a naughty girl, being with both of them, her parents were alive but her relationship with them was irrepairable, she betrayed his brother and went with him, and her marriage and family was based on lies someone chose tell. Was she ready for that kind of upheavel? Could she deal with every piece of her past being questioned, even though it would be questioned now, whether it was true or not.

But on the other hand, if Noah was wrong, why would he do something like this? What did he have to gain? Someone who looked like the woman he loved? It's unsettling to think that he would fabricate all that. He'd have to be crazy but she had considered that already. Noah wasn't unstable. He genuinely believed in what he was telling her. He wasn't giving off ulterior motives.

How could she not remember significant things that happened in her life. Why didn't what he said trigger a memory if it was true? She started packing away toys just to distract herself from the thoughts.

"Hey baby. Everything OK." Shaun said when he got home and didn't get his regular greeting at the door. He leaned over the chair she was sitting on and gave her a peck on the cheek when she turned her head to him.

"Yup. Just a bit tired. I went to the park with the kids today." Samantha said a wave of relief flowing over her now that he was home with her. She got up, came around the chair, and hugged him, the intrusive thoughts taking a back seat in her mind. "How was work?"

"Great. Got to deliver a bouncing baby girl today. 10lbs. Mom was diabetic and she surprised us and had a really good delivery."

"Oh honey, that's great." His smile was so contagious? She couldn't help smiling with him.

"What's for dinner?"

She arched away from him towards the table. "I just picked up something on the way home. Chinese."
