Timeline: In mid 1980's
Place: Sindhupur Village
A beautiful village on the banks of the river Yamuna is all set to welcome a pleasant day with the sun rays falling on the crop fields and the sounds of birds chirping and people going for their field works.
But the peace is short lived as a shipwrecked in the river. Soon, a few villagers jumped into the river and saved some people. One of them is an 8 year old Raghav. But both his parents died in the accident. He was crying for them but they were nowhere found. The villagers concluded that they have been washed away by the river.
Soon the information is passed to the haveli. The head of the village SuryaDev Prathap rushed to the place. He inspected the place and felt sad for the loss. He promised to support all the people who faced loss. Then his eyes fell on crying Raghav. He went to him and asked Raghav to come with him to his house and he would give him shelter. Raghav agreed and went with him.
As SuryaDev entered home, he was welcomed by his anxious wife, Ambika.
Ambika: What has happened there?
Surya: A boat is sinked into the river and a lot of people lost their lives.
Ambika felt sad. But soon her eyes fell on Raghav who is behind her husband.
Ambika: Who is this boy?
Surya: He lost both his parents and has no one. So, I brought him here. He will stay with us from today onwards.
Ambika MV: Sometimes god is too cruel. This child has to face such loss in an young age.
Ambika: Come Raghav! Come with me.
Raghav went with her. She gave him her son's clothes and fed him food. When Raghav was eating food, a boy of Raghav's age and a girl who is a little younger came and stood beside Ambika. Raghav saw them and blinked his eyes at Ambika.
Ambika: Raghav! These are our children. He is Manveer, my son. She is Archana, my daughter.
Raghav smiled at them.
Ambika: Manveer, Archana! He is Raghav, your new friend. From today onwards he will also stay with us. So both of you should be friends with him.
Manveer/Archana: Ok Ma!
Saying so, they went towards Raghav and started talking. Within no time they became friends.
Meanwhile, SuryaDev finished talking to the villagers and came to his family. Archana saw him and jumped on to him.
Archana: Papa!
Surya: My princess!
Saying so he lifted her up and took her in his arms.
Archana: Papa! We have become friends with Raghav. So, we will show him our toys and room.
Surya: Ok, my princess!
Ambika was watching them with adoration and tears in her eyes. Soon the children left. Surya saw Ambika who has tears in her eyes and went towards her.
Surya: What happened Ambika? Why are you crying?
Ambika: I am not crying. I was just thinking how lucky I am to get you. Archana is my sister's daughter, When I asked if we can adopt her you immediately said yes and brought her home. Now, you treat her more than a daughter.
(Archana's parents died in an accident when she was 6 months old and so, Ambika and Surya adopted her).
Surya wiped her tears and said
Surya: She is our daughter Ambika. God has not given us a daughter but he compensated it with Archana.
In the night,
Raghav was sitting on the steps and crying for his parents. Ambika saw him and went to him.
Ambika: Raghav! Why are you crying?
Raghav: I want my Ma and Papa!.
Ambika felt sad for him and consoled him.
Ambika: Raghav! I cant bring your parents. But You can call me Ma! and come to me for anything you need. Don't cry Bacha(child). She took his head in her lap and put him to sleep.
A month later,
Raghav was also joined in school along with Manveer and Archana. Manveer and Raghav became very good friends and inseparable in this time. Archana on the other hand also likes Raghav's company.
