Chapter - 3

A few days later,

Archana went to temple along with her mother Ambika to pray to god for starting Manveer's wedding preparations. She saw the same girl whom Raghav was looking in the engagement.

Archana: Ma! I will just come.

Ambika: ok!

The girl saw Archana coming towards her and greeted her.

Girl: Vanakkam!(Hello)

Archana just nodded her head and was looking at her without any words with arrogance. The girl felt that something was wrong and decided to start the conversation.

Girl: Do you need anything Archana Amma(Amma: mother/a term used to address a girl with respect).

Archana: What is your name? What do you do?

Girl: Meera. For now I am taking tuitions to the children.

Archana: What does your parents do?

Meera's smile faded with the mention of her parents and became sad. However she replied,

Meera: I don't have anybody. I am an orphan. Why are you asking all this Amma?

Archana: I can see that you are dreaming for something that you cannot afford.

Meera frowned not understanding what Archana meant.

Meera: I did not get you.

Archana: I am talking about Raghav. I saw you both in the engagement and it is not tough for me to understand what you are trying to do. You thought Raghav has money so you could trap him and use him. An orphan who doesn't have anything getting greedy for fortune. If I see you anywhere near Raghav then you will have to face the worst.

Meera eyes filled with tears listening to Archana.

Meera: No! You are misunderstanding.

Archana: Oh! Really, So please enlighten me what is your intention. I know girls like you very well.

Meera could not stand Archana's words and thought to reveal the truth.

(Meera and Raghav are in love for 3 years. But nobody except Kaasi who is Raghav's friend knows about it. They planned to reveal to everybody after Manveer's marriage.)

Meera: Raghav and I are in love. We want to get married.

Listening to this Archana became furious and caught Meera's throat.Meera became breathless and struggling in her hold. But Archana is looking at her with fury.

Archana: How dare you say that? He is mine. I have been in love with him for years. How dare you come in between us? Now I understand why Raghav doesn't look at me. It is you who caught him in your trap. I will kill you.

Meera was shocked listening to her. She used all her strength and came out of Archana's hold and was taking heavy breaths. After sometime she settled processed what she has heard.

Archana: This is your last warning. If I see you near Raghav then mark my words that will be your last day.

Saying so, Archana left. Meera fell on her knees and cried miserably. Later, she started going home lost in her thoughts.

Raghav who was coming in the opposite direction saw Meera and stopped his bike.

Raghav: Meera!
