WRONG IDEA/BITTERSWEET >( i'd do anything for you. i'd do anything for you. i'd do anything for you.)

JADE, ZIA AND ADA sat cuddled up in ada's covers boxes cluttering the once filled room. a certain light that used to fill its walls now mellowed out into a darker hue as the sun began to set from the window.
jade, zia and ada had been crying far too much for it to be healthy. granted they hadn't stopped crying after finding out ada would he moving out to san francisco for a sports journalism opportunity. these past few weeks had been nothing but tears for the three best friends.
"couldn't you have picked anywhere closer?" jade sniffled as she lightly brushed ada's hair from her face. brown teary eyes looking down at her friend who sat squished between jade and zia.
"i know, i'm sorry. please don't hate me?" ada chuckled, before the tear could even fall onto her cheeks zia was quick to wipe them. pressing a small kiss on the top of her head. inhaling slowing before letting out a deep sigh.
"we could never hate you. we are so proud of you ada. you are so talented and it deserves to be seen." zia spoke with honesty. the whole feeking was bittersweet, it twisted their heartstrings with such malice fingers at the fact they were now being separated for the first time in forever. yet a warmth bubbled in their stomachs and just how far their best friend has come.
"the world deserves to see ada caddel." jade smiles softly, hugging her friends a little tighter.
"i love you guys so much. i don't know where i'd be without you."
"we love you."
these smiles were genuine. in the same way you would smile after winning a medal or finally finishing a book or completing your assignment just before it's due. though they were saying goodbye, and ada was leaving. it wasn't something to be sad over, not when it was an achievement rather than something to dwell on.
it felt weird. to see the room that was packed with posters and polaroids look so empty. it was as if it had lost its character. what was even more unsettling was the fact that ada had just packed away more than 4 years of her life into these boxes. that ever fragment and artefact of her life that she was so sure that would never change had been squeezed into cardboard boxes and soon be moved to start completely anew.
the thought of starting all over again without her best friends scared her in a way she couldn't even muster to words. half of her was excited.
excited to move to a different city. specifically a different city with her paige.
to think the two were so scared of what would happen if paige was drafted somewhere that was too far, making it even harder for the two to meet. but the universe had been on their side.
only days before paige had been drafted ada had gotten the offer from gina, to work for the golden state valkyries as their personal journalist and media manager.
so you could only imagine how happy the two girls were when paige had been the no.1 pick by the golden state valkyries.
