The children were gathered in the parlor after lunch. Since they were finished with their chores and had no other idea on how to spend their free time, they persuaded y/n to join them in a game. They wanted Miss Peregrine to join as well, but the ymbryne turned them down, only staying to supervise.

The headmistress took a seat on the chair in the parlor, sharing a glance with y/n before back at Emma who had come back with a glass bottle.

"Where did you get that?" Alma questions with a raised eyebrow.

"During a game of Raid the Village. Don't worry, it was empty." She says, sitting it down on the floor. "Now, everyone in a circle!"

"I've told you multiple times to not harrass the towns people." Miss Peregrine starts to scold with a stern look but Enoch grumbled.

"We know. Now can we get this over with? I'm ready to leave." He mutters, his arms crossed as he sent a glare to Emma.

"Alright, everyone sit." She orders and y/n sighed, taking a seat beside Horace and Hugh, the headmistress behind her in a chair watching her closely.

"Is this what I think it is?" The woman says unamused and Olive smiled.

"Yep!"

"Consider me out then." Y/n was about to leave when Miss Peregrine caught her wrist, the younger woman looking back at her confused.

"I do believe you promised the children you would play a game with them, didn't you?" She says quietly, a small smirk playing on her lips. Y/n blushed slightly, not used to how the ymbryne looked at her and nodded. "Good. Now sit." She says and the woman felt her cheeks burn as she took her seat in front of Miss Peregrine.

"Who wants to start?" Millard asks and the woman felt her cheeks grow red even more when most of them snapped their gaze to her.

"Me? What about Emma?" She tries to argue but failed when the girl shook her head and let out a sigh. "Fine." The woman took the glass bottle, hesitating for just a second before spinning it. The children watched on carefully, seeing it eventually stop.

"Me? Alright, my turns done. Who's next?" Y/n says, unamused and Emma shook her head. "What? It's pointing at me."

"Technically no." Millard says and y/n raised a confused eyebrow before she felt the tip of Alma's heel trail up her back, gaining her attention when she realized who it was.

"Looks like you got Miss P." Emma says with a smile. Y/n glanced over and felt her cheeks burn when the ymbryne raised an eyebrow, an innocent smile on her lips. Then she threw her a wink.

Y/n made eye contact with the ymbryne for just a second more before suddenly Miss Peregrine rose from her seat.

"Alright children, I do believe it's time to go for our daily walk."

"But we just started!"

"No buts. We will all leave in precisely 3 minutes and 10 seconds." The ravenette says and the children gave up, walking away in disappointment. That left y/n alone with Alma.

She was confused nonetheless and tried ridding the blush from her cheeks, her breath catching in her throat when the ymbrynes blue eyes pierced into hers.

Her breathing went shallow as the older woman slowly walked over to her, a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips as she looked down at her, her nose only inches away from hers.

"Now then, where were we?"

Alma didn't make any advances further, wanting to be sure y/n was alright with the sudden advance and she almost backed off when she seen the uncertainty in her eyes. Right when she went to though, y/n pulled her back by the collar of her jacket, her lips meeting hers almost immediately. The older woman looked over her for a moment before shutting her eyes, leaning further into the touch, enjoying the feeling that grew in her chest.

The woman let out a small noise, awfully resembling a moan and Alma smiled against her lips, backing her up against the wall. The ymbrynes hands rested on her waist, her talons digging into her hips and had to pull away to catch her breath. Y/n felt her cheeks burn, flustered yet half hypnotized by the woman's beauty, seeing the light pink that dusted across the ravenettes usually pale cheeks.

"You're staring, darling. It's quite rude to do so." Alma teases, her lips turned up in a slight smirk and her breath hitting the side of the woman's jaw.

"Then stop giving me reasons to." She replies, her voice airy and quiet, looking at the woman as Alma trailed down her neck. The ymbryne placed one last kiss on her forehead before pulling away, checking her watch with a pleased hum.

"Right on time, children. Now off we go." The headmistress says, walking towards the front door, y/n following in suite. The older woman walked in the very back of the group, y/n following up towards the lead where Emma was.

"Did you do it or back out?" The girl asks, a smile forming on the woman's lips.

"No, I backed out." She replies, trying to feign disappointment.

"Really? I thought for sure you wouldn't."

"Well, she is rather intimidating. Wouldn't want to upset her." Y/n says softly, glancing behind her and caught the ravenettes gaze. The older woman felt her lips tug up into a slight smirk, y/n feeling her own form when Alma tossed her a wink.

"I suppose that's true." Emma says, noticing the glance exchanged and a hint of suspicion in her voice but let it slide. "Maybe tonight you'll change your mind." She shrugs and y/n chuckled.

"Maybe."
