Y/n woke up, feeling the cold floor beneath her and groaned, slowly opening her eyes as a pain split between her head and traveled down her back. With a shuddery sigh, she tried sitting up but only fell back down, a warmth running down the back of her neck and she slowly raised a shaky hand. She brushed it against her neck, pulling it back to see it covered in blood and groaned as she forced herself to sit up again.

Propping herself against a wall, y/n looked around the room and seen the metal walls that were shining against the moonlight, the room otherwise dark. Her breathing shallow and her vision swimming, she ran her hand across the cold floor under her, the blood on her hand leaving a small trail as she did. Y/n shut her eyes, leaning her head back against the wall to rid herself of the pain in her head. Her lips felt awfully dry, needing a drink but she knew she wouldn't be able to get anything. Thankfully she wasn't that hungry.

Y/n mumbled something, though she wasn't even sure herself what she said as her vision swam and her eyes adjusted. Her senses seemed to be down and she hardly reacted to the pain or the sound from the door from opening.

"Who's there?" She tries to say but it was just a mumble as she adjusted her eyes, squinting around the dark room and suddenly jumped when she felt a hand touch her shoulder. Her eyes widened as she tried to decipher who it was and her heart rate quickened until she seen the person kneel down. They leaned forward to where the moon was shining through, the woman's dark blue hair shining in the light. Y/n met her worried but relieved gaze and relaxed.

"How did you get here?" She asks but Miss Peregrine had ignored her, glancing over the rope she didn't notice was around her ankles.

"Hold still." She says, taking an arrow from her crossbow that y/n didn't notice she had beside her. She used the point and carefully brought it under the rope, cutting through it with an upwards motion. Now with the rope gone, she went to help her up when the younger woman let out a small noise.

"What is it?" The headmistress asks but then seen the chain that was around the woman's wrist. The older woman kneeled back down, gently moving her talons down to y/n's other hand and seeing how irritated her skin was from the metal. Alma tried to use the arrow of her crossbow to unpick the small lock, but to her disappointment it didn't work.

"I'll be right back." She says and was about to stand to leave when y/n reached out her unchained hand and quickly grabbed her by the wrist.

"Please don't leave me here." She says in a hushed tone, panic filling her and Miss Peregrine looked between the door and back at her and gently removed the woman's hand.

"I'm not leaving you, I promise. I need to find the key." The ravenette assures, her tone soft but firm and y/n let go, watching the ymbryne leave. Too tired to cry or attempt freeing herself, she leaned back against the wall with a small whimper from the pain in her skull.

She felt as if so many minutes had passed and Miss Peregrine hadn't returned. If she wasn't so delirious, she could attempt to use her peculiarity, but when she tried to melt the chain that was around her wrist, it didn't work.

"Don't bother wasting more of your energy than you already have."

Y/n looked over and seen the headmistress was back, a key in her hand. The ravenette kneeled down in front of her and carefully unlocked it, holding the back of her hand as she glanced over the cut on her wrist for a moment.

"Let's get you back to the home." The ymbryne says, meeting her gaze and carefully brushing her hair back. Her eyes widened for only a second when she seen the blood on her palm from doing so but ignored it, standing and helping the other woman off the ground.

"I'm going to draw you a bath and then I want you to get plenty of rest." Miss Peregrine says and y/n hummed a quiet response. The woman had brought her to her bedroom, needing to get the first aid kit ready for when she was finished in the bathroom and placing it on the bed.
