So Monday morning I dressed in my uniform and was walking with Light.

"So you're H?" He asked and I nodded, tired. "Yep. Shocked?" I sighed. "A little, I have to admit." He laughed softly. "And you? Any alias' I wanna know about?" I asked and he shook his head. "Nope."

"So how did you get on the task force?" I asked. "My dad is chief of police. I've helped him out with a few previous cases, so when he was recruited, I was too." He shrugged.

"So I bet you're going to be a cop?" I hummed and he nodded. "Detective, but every detective starts out by being a cop." He said. "Sherlock Holmes didn't." I said and he threw me a sarcastic 'really?' look.

We got to school and Kimi spotted us, coming over. "Does your friend know who you are?" He asked. "Nope. And you're not going to tell her." "Okay."

Kimi came over and threw me a look. "Sorry, Light, gonna hafta steal miss Reiko from you now." She said and Light nodded. "See you later... Reiko." He said and I nodded. "See ya Light!"

"Dude! Told you I landed you a boyfriend!" She squealed. "Light isn't my boyfriend. I was just walking and he caught up with me." I shrugged.

"Mhmm." She gave me a look.

School passed quickly and soon I was walking back to headquarters with Light. We went up and I plopped on the couch next to L again. "Hello friend!" I grinned widely.

"Friend?" He mumbled confusedly. "Yeah friend." My smile faded and I sat up normally again. "Don't you have homework?" Light asked. "Yep." I answered. "Go do your homework." L said. "I don't wanna!" "Go." He threw me a look and I got up and retreated to my room.

Instead of doing my homework, I took a book out of my bag and my phone. I played my music loud and sang along as I read. Multitasking at its finest.

"Her name is Noel
I have a dream about her
She rings my bell
I've got gym class in half an hour
Oh how she rocks
Those Keds and tube socks
But she doesn't know who I am
And she doesn't give a damn about me

Cos I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Listen to Iron Maiden baby
With me

Her boyfriend's a dick
He brings a gun to school
And I know he'd kick
My ass if he knew the truth
He lives on my block
And drives an IROC
But he doesn't know who I am
And he doesn't give a damn about me

Cos I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Listen to Iron Maiden baby
With me

Oh yeah
Dirtbag
Oh she doesn't know what she's missing
Oh yeah
Dirtbag
No she doesn't know what she's
Missing

Man I feel like mould
It's prom night and I am lonely
Lo and behold
She's walking over to me
This must be fake
My legs start to shake
How does she know who I am?
And why does she give a damn about me?

I've got two tickets to Iron Maiden baby
Come with me Friday
Don't say maybe
Cos I'm just a teenage dirtbag baby
Like you
Ooh ooh oh oh

Oh yeah
Dirtbag
Oh no
She doesn't know what she's missing
Oh yeah
Dirtbag
Oh she doesn't know what she's
Missing..."

I sang and my door was opened to an upset looking L. "What's up?" I asked, turning my music off. "You're supposed to be doing your homework." He said.

"Nah, I don't wanna." I hummed, closing my book. He just let out an exasperated sigh. "You know this only shows me and the rest of the team your cooperation to work skills." He said. "You bring a horse to water, but you can't make it drink. It'll drink when it wants to." I said, looking up at him upside down.

"Meaning, I'll work what I want to. Just because I don't want to, and refuse to, do my homework doesn't mean I don't want to do any work. When you ask me to, I'll steal, break into, do whatever criminality you ask of me. That stuff I'm good at and I actually want to do. Calculus doesn't fall into things I'm good at and want to do." I explained and he stared at me for a long time.

"Anything else?" I asked, turning myself over on my bed to look at him right side up. "You're a very odd person, but you still continue to amaze me with how intelligent you seem to be even after four days of knowing you." He said softly. "I'll take that as a compliment." "It is a compliment." He nodded, putting his thumb against his lip as he studied me.

"Well." He turned back to normal L. "Summer is almost here. So all you have left are exams then you'll be free forever." He said and I grinned. "Yep. Then you lot get me all to yourselves." I smiled.

"You say lot a lot when referring to a group. Are you European?" He asked. "One fourth Japanese, one fourth English, one fourth Irish, and one fourth German. Mother is German and Japanese, father was English and Irish. Don't even ask me how." I sighed.

"Was?" "Huh?" "You said your father was. Past tense." "Oh yeah. He's dead." I shrugged. "I would say sorry for the formalities, but it seems like you don't care." He said. "I don't. I hated him anyway. Kinda sad that he is dead, though." I hummed. "Why is it sad if you don't care?" L asked.

"Cos if he's dead I can't tell him what I think of him and I can't see his reaction." I shrugged. "Oh. And what do you think of him?" L asked. "That's a story for another day." I smirked.

"We're going to need you pretty soon. I'll tell you when." He said and walked out and away.

I just smiled to myself and continued on with my activities.
