C.20

H'S P.O.V.

"H, get up we're going out." L said knocking on my door. "Where?" I asked. "Lunch. Light is bored and needs air." He said and walked back out. I got up and freshened myself up and got dressed in ripped skinny jeans and a crop top and combat boots. No jacket this time cos it was hot as motherfucking Hades.

I stepped out and met them after doing my makeup and getting my phone and wallet. I probably wouldn't even need my wallet, but who knew with these two.

We were a week in and no luck with finding this Kira. God fucking dammit.

I walked with my boys to this café where we sat down, Light got our orders and went to go put them in and pay. He went away and it was oddly quiet.

Usually L and I could hold conversations for hours. But after that little incident... Things weren't really the same between us, and I guess it was awkward to be alone together again.

Light came back and I pulled out my wallet to pay him back and he just shook his head. "No, put your wallet back." He said to me. "Why?" I pouted. "You're a girl, girls don't pay if there's gentlemen around." Light said and I scoffed. "Like you two are gentlemen. I've seen you two fight." I said and reached for my sandwich and tea.

Light had gotten some sandwich with coffee and L just got a slice of chocolate cake and a marshmallow dream bar and some fruit pastries. "Have you ever had a cavity?" I asked him. "I mean, I eat a lot of sugar, but damn, boy..." I sighed. "I brush my teeth four times a day." L answered me. "I don't know whether dentists would be proud or disgusted of you..." I hummed and Light laughed.

Light talked with us while we were eating and he seemed to notice that L and I couldn't look at or talk to each other directly without him. Soon we were all finished eating and drinking and conversation was finally running smoothly.

L'S P.O.V.

Light seemed mad. "Okay, what's up with you two? You can't look at each other or even talk to each other without me here." Light said and they were both quiet, avoiding eye contact.

"What happened?" I asked. It was quiet before H spoke up. "He started it." She said. "I did not start it! You started it!" I fought back. "How did I start it?!" "You were the one trying to tear the team apart!" "That was because you wouldn't let me do anything! You've used everyone except me! Even Misa! What is she even on the team for?!" H said.

"Misa is on the team because she's a suspect." I said. "You know, you may be the best detective out there, Ryuzaki, but I seriously do not understand your logic at times. Oh hey, let's take these two suspects for huge fucking criminal massacres world wide, both of which want to kill me, and I'll make sure they're on a team to catch them. Because that makes sense." H snapped.

"It's so they can't kill me you idiot. And why are you and Misa always at each other's throats? She didn't do anything to you." I shrugged. "She's a bitch and she likes to start drama. It's only in my nature to fight back." H crossed her arms. "And besides, she's admitted to being a Kira worshipper. I also don't see why she's on the team for worshipping the person we're trying to catch." H scoffed.

"Okay, both of you stop. Basically what I'm getting is you wouldn't give her any jobs so she got bored, and Ryuzaki, seriously bad idea. You know what happens when criminals get bored. And so you being bored lead you to start a crime spree and try to tear our team apart? Now I get the spree, but really? That second bit is a bit uncalled for. Now what happened after that? I'm betting it was the day after we had you locked up." Light said and we fell quiet again.

"It was when I was in my room getting dressed and you lot of perverts were watching." H said and I bit my lip. "It was when I went in for one minute and she shut up." I said and Light seemed to remember. "Oh, when we were all wondering what you did to her in one minute. What did you do to her?" Light asked me and I couldn't answer.

I was too focused on the missed feeling of her lips against mine. They were soft, her skin was soft and smooth. She tasted like butter and tea. I remember because I couldn't control my tongue. It reached out and touched her lip, and then I pulled away and ended the kiss before I could get too carried away.

H answered for me. "He kissed me." She said softly. Light's face was priceless. "You stole her first kiss?" Light looked at me and I nodded. "Yeah, I stole her first kiss. She wouldn't shut up and I didn't know what to do." I said and felt H tense next to me.

"So it didn't even mean anything? It was just to get me to shut up?" She glared at me. "Well..." I started, ready to tell her it meant the world to me. "Wow guys are jerks." She grabbed her phone and walked out, neither of us following her.

"She didn't even let me finish! And she says guys are jerks!" I sighed and put my head on the table. "Did it mean anything to you?" Light asked. "Of course it did! When I said well I was trying to think of how to word it. I don't want to sound cheesy." I rolled my eyes. "What were you going to say?" Light asked.

"It meant everything, the world, et cetera." I trailed off. "But it wouldn't even matter anyway! She's in love with that Jack guy." I said. "No, she corrected me when I said that. She loves him, she's not in love with him. There's a difference. And besides, he's a fictional character and you're a real person. Who do you think she feels she'd have a better chance with?" Light stared at me.

"Hey, boys, sorry. I couldn't help but overhear, and boy, you've fucked up bad." A person at another table said.

"Yeah, I know..." I sighed. "Come on, Light, let's get back." I hummed, standing up.
