Unexpected

C.22

I hid in my room another two days, so we've got three days left, not including today. There was a faint knock on my door and I looked up from the pillow I had shoved my face in. "What?" I asked. "Hey, it's Light. Ryuzaki wanted me to give you something so you could go out and shop." He said and I got up and opened the door.

"I went shopping last week." I said. "Yeah, this time you're shopping for a formal dress. Well, two. There are two events being help tomorrow and we've already got our suits, you just need two dresses. He told me to tell you that and give you his credit card so you could get whatever you needed." He said and handed it over. I took with and stared at him.

"Okay, do we have alias' or anything?" I asked. "We're keeping our names, but Ruuzaki's playing the manager for a large company in Japan, I'm a coworker slash friend, and you're an intern." Light said. "Okay. I'll go in a minute, thanks, Light." I said and closed the door, going to get dressed and made up.

Once I was ready, I left and went to the most formal store I could find. When I went I searched and searched through dresses, not really knowing what I was looking for.

"Hi, I've seen you looking around. Can I help you find anything?" A nice looking lady came up. "Oh, uh sure..." I said and turned to her. "What are you looking for?" She asked. "I need two formal dresses, and I don't really know what the hell I'm doing cos I don't wear dresses often..." I bit my lip.

"Well, what style are you looking for? Short, long? Strapless, sleeved? What material?" She asked and I shrugged. "I really have no clue." I laughed nervously. "Well, you're really pale, so dark colours will look amazing on you... And based on your proportions... I think a tighter waist will also do wonders for you. Now what are you comfortable with? Do you like more modest dresses that cover or is there someone you'd like to impress, and rather go with a sexy dress?" She asked.

L popped into my mind. "Well... There is this one guy... But he doesn't really pay attention to how someone looks, so I don't know if sexy will work on him..." I sighed and she gave me a sympathetic look.

We went around and she picked out a few dresses for me, and I went to try them on. I narrowed myself down to three choices. I stepped out with the dresses in hand. "I like this one because it shows off my legs, so a definite yes." I held one up. "This one looks great on me, but isn't that comfy, so no... And this one... Is probably the definition of a sexy dress. So yes." I said and she smiled and clapped her hands.

"Are you done or did you want to look at shoes and jewellery?" She asked "I'm definitely looking at shoes." I said and she lead me over. I chose two pairs of black platform pumps, one with silver studs on the toe and heel, and then I checked out.

"Thanks for shopping!" She said as I walked out. I actually felt good coming out of that store. I felt happier.

My original plan was to spend as much as I could on shit I didn't really need, but that was when I wasn't feeling my best. Now I'm feeling better and I don't need to do that.

I went straight back to the hotel and knocked on the boys' door, L actually answering for once. "Yes?" He said and I kissed his cheek and handed him the cars back. "Thanks, Ryuzaki!" I smiled and went to my room.

I couldn't wait to show L what he was missing.
