L'S P.O.V.

We got back to headquarters and just to make sure nothing else would happen, we locked H up in a security room with cameras. Just where we locked up Misa that one time.

I watched her through security cameras as I did every night. Only difference was that everyone else was watching with me.

"You think she's really a psycho?" Matsuda whispered. "No." I answered. "As she said, she's completely aware of her actions. She knows what she's doing. Why she did them, I've yet to know..." I murmured and grabbed a microphone.

"H, can you hear me?" I asked and she looked up, though she was blindfolded. "Yep." She answered. "Why did you decide to go on a crime spree?" I asked. She sighed. "Finals stress me out, and crime relaxes me. Kinda is why I'm a criminal, L." She smiled. "Why did you even become a criminal?" I asked and she smiled. "You know what I need from you to get me to tell you that." She smiled.

I paused for a moment and thought this over. I couldn't let slip too much about myself, but I needed information on her.

I went back to the mic. "I'm a detective because I was trained to be one." I said. "I'm a criminal because I had to be one." She smiled. I sighed again. "You're a really complicated person, you know that right? Does everything have a price to you?" I asked.

"Of course. What's something in this world that doesn't have a price. And, if you're good at something, never do it for free. That's what my love says." She smiled, biting her lip. "You've said that before. Who's your 'love'? Is he another criminal?" I asked. "Oh, best one there is. He's a Prince of Crime." She laughed.

"Who is he?" I asked again. "He doesn't know me, though. So he obviously doesn't love me back, which is sad. But I don't care. I know he never will, but I'll keep doing what I do for him." She paused and then laughed loudly. "Kinda sounds familiar, doesn't it? Kinda like Misa and Light, only I'm Misa in this situation." She snickered. "Usually I don't take the roll of a bitch, but I guess I'll do this time." She sighed.

"You bitch! You wait till I get my hands on you, you-!" "Calm down, Misa." "Shut up Light!" Misa went and stomped away to her room. "From the absence of sound, I'm guessing someone just threw a fit, and it was either Light or Misa, but my money's on Misa." H said.

"Why are you doing this? You know we need to work together, H." I said, sighing into the microphone. "I had a bad day, L. When I have bad days, this is how I fucking act." She said. "Ryuzaki, I have a question." Matsuda said. "Yes, what?" I asked. "How come you never correct her when she calls you L?" He asked and eyes were on me.

Because I like the way my name sounds coming from her mouth? Yeah, but I'm not telling them that. "I don't know. Because she also has a one letter name?" I shrugged. "Did something happen?" She asked.

"Tell me, H. What is the name of the man you love?" I asked and she smiled. "Would you like his real name or his criminal name?" She asked. "Real name, please." "Well, no one knows his real name for sure, except him. But there have been a few guesses, and the closest we've come is Jack Napier." She said.

"American?" "American." "Search it. Any results will do." I said. "Oh my God." Light gasped. "What?" We all asked. "You guys don't know who that is? He's the most insane, genius criminal ever!" Light said. "No." We shook our heads.

Light pushed me away and grabbed the microphone. "Excuse me, nerd talk." He said and turned it on. "You're in love with Jack Napier?" He asked. "Is that you, Light? And well, I wouldn't say in love. I just say love. Hell, I'm close to fucking worshipping him. He's brilliant." She gushed.

"I know he is. I'm a nerd too. But, H, you can't love a fictional character that way." He said. "I'm proof that you can. I love puddin'." She giggled. "I'm sorry, who is this person?" His father asked.

"H loves the Joker from Batman." Light said quickly. "Who?" "He's a psychopathic clown." H said and Light realised he'd left the mic on. "He's beautiful. He's talented, amazing, brilliant, a pure evil genius. A true psychopath. Kira's got nothing on him." She smiled.

I reached over and took the mic. "You became a criminal to be like him, didn't you? Say, how old were you when you started this?" I asked. "Info for info, my friend." She said. Ugh, I can't say anything about myself around these people! "I was very young when I started detective work." I said. "I was very young when I started criminalities. And you're wrong." She said. "Wrong?" "Yes, wrong. I didn't become a criminal for him. I've already said I became or because I had to. I just based myself off of him." She said.

"That makes sense. Brightly coloured hair, your suit is almost the same to Harley Quinn's. Childish attitude but also psychopathic tendencies." Light said. "Oh, and one more thing L?" She asked. "What?"

"I couldn't help but notice you've been giving vague answers to me this whole time. Now, I know you trust me, because you've given not so vague answers when we're alone, but I know there are other people in the room with you at the moment." She said and it grew silent.

"I think you can do the math from there. Now I'm tired, goodnight." She said and spoke not another word for the rest of the night.

I wanted to scream at her. To yell and curse and ask why she was trying to tear the task force apart bit by bit.

But instead, I quietly walked to my room and locked myself in.
