Abbie's POVIt's been two months since we defeated Matisa—two months too long since we've been looking for the real Analise. Today, we finally found her.
It wasn't easy finding her and bringing her home would certainly not be easy. Where we found her, she had made a whole new life. She was married and had two kids, one born and one growing inside her.
We stood at the top of the hill, looking down at a strawberry field. Analise strolled through the field looking beautifully, with long blonde hair and a beautiful yellow sundress, the fabric tinted with tiny white daisies on the fabric, giving it that sweet spring feel. She happily picked strawberries and placed them into a basket, playing with a little girl who picked up a strawberry and bit it, making Analise chuckle.
I couldn't help but feel overjoyed. But my heart also ached for the elderly lady standing beside me.
Hunter stood on my other side, his hand wrapped around Anthony's shoulders, who was happy we found his aunt.
"How did you two meet?" Analise's grandmother asks, with teary eyes to the young man beside her.
"I found her wandering around just a little over two years ago. She was disoriented, lost, and... Looked pretty bad. She had gone through something bad, except she didn't remember. She doesn't remember any of it. At first, we tried taking her to the doctor to see if we could find anything in the file to identify her, but every time we thought we found something, it ended in a dead end." he says, as he looks sadly toward the field with his hands crossed over his chest.
"Does she remember who she is? Who brought her here?" Hunter asks as he bites his bottom lip, crossing his hands over his shoulder. "Mommy, I want to go with Daddy. I'm tired," the little girl says, tugging softly on her dress. She kneels and smiles, caressing her head and kissing the tip of her nose.
"Alright, baby. I need just a few more strawberries to make Daddy a big batch of strawberry ice cream and the jam I promised Grandma, okay? How about I make you lemonade when we get home?" She says, pointing her finger at her and making the little girl smile.
The young guy grins, letting out a big sigh. "That's my daughter, Hailey. Her mother died giving birth to her—complications during childbirth. Analise came a bit after Hailey turned one, so she doesn't know Analise is not her mom. She- was the one who begged us not to tell her. She fell in love with my daughter right away. And, though she doesn't remember who she is, she... gave my daughter and me a chance to be part of her life. We got married a year ago. But lately- she's been having nightmares. She describes a woman who looks just like her trying to hurt her." he says, looking worried.
He was talking about Matisa, except he didn't have to worry about her anymore. She is long gone now.
We stood there for a while, talking to him, trying to learn as much as possible about her and what had happened to her over the past two years. But I knew if I wanted to know the real truth, I had to touch her so I could induce a vision and learn the real backstory.
The problem is that she will see it, too, and I'm not sure that's a good idea.
I debated what to do, but ultimately, I thought her grandma should speak to her. Who am I to get in between her new life?
"Dorothy... Are you sure you want to stay here? What about your restaurant?" I asked Analise's grandma.
"Don't worry about me, Luna. I will be just fine here. But I do need your permission and Sloha's to stay here. Please... let me stay! I... I want to be with my granddaughter. The restaurant... is not important to me without her. I only kept it open because I thought she'd take over it one day. Now that she's here, I want to stay." she says, holding my hands and looking toward Analise.
