Chapter 58

*Seven years later...*

Jeongin's POV

Late afternoon. It was a peaceful time to watch the setting sun from the horizon.

I walked side by side with the love of my life on the sandy beach. The waves of the ocean crashed on the land and retreated back with a somewhat rhythmic sound.

Our hands interlocked, I felt every particle of my body dance in a wave of ecstacy.

We've been together for about seven years now and nothing has ever made me happier than being with Chan.

I moved in with him ten months after that incident with Shi-on.

All that pain from the past has left me with scars, yes. But I'm still learning to get over it. My panic attacks aren't getting as severe as they used to be and my nightmares have decreased from little to nothing at all.

After watching the sun set, we decided to return home.

When we got to Seoul, Chan wanted us to pass by my mom's place before going home.

We arrived at the mansion and I was greeted by a tight hug from my mother.

"Eomma! You're squishing me!"

"And do I care? Don't act like you don't love my hugs." She finally let go after a few seconds.

Then she hugged Chan too.

This woman's growing older and somehow tougher by the day.

We went inside the house and found Ms Min descending from the stairs, looking like she hadn't gone out the whole day.

"Jeonginnie!" She quickly came and engulfed me in a bear hug.

"Hi, mom," I smiled at her.

The reason I call her 'mom' is because she and my mother are dating right now and their relationship had been getting serious for a few years since the first confession.

My dearest mother had finally decided to shoot her shot and move on with her romantic life six years ago. So when I asked Ms Min what she wanted me to call her, she just said, "Mom." So here we are.

Chan and my mother talked about stuff that had to do with business as dinner was being served. Through it all I mostly heard matters of merging their companies and I could clearly see that it was going to be a big matter.

I've stopped working at Blazing Group of Companies and helped my mom with the business instead. It was lovely working there, but I eventually thought that I should probably join my mother's company and show my experience in the field of business dynamics. Although I still do make occasional visits to the staff when I'm there to see Chan.

We finished up and bid my mother farewell before going to the Bahng mansion.

Hannah has been focusing more on her dream career - music - and Chan and I thought it was such a good thing that she was doing what she loves. In fact, she had become so popular in the last few years, she's released multiple albums and singles. She was self reliant, meaning she didn't need other entertainment companies to help her in music video making or marketing strategy.

We see a very bright future for her.

When we got home, we found that she was asleep already. She was probably tuckered out from working all day.

Chan and I went to our room and I immediately dropped onto the bed face first.

"You tired?"

I hummed into the soft pillow.
