*The next day...*

Things had been... rather hectic and traumatic yesterday.

The doctor said that Hyunjin was in such a bad state of depression, he'd unfortunately been subjected to paralysis.

He was brought back to the Bahng mansion. The nurse pushed his wheelchair towards a room that had been prepared for him downstairs.

Hyunjin's parents had come to take their son with them. They were in the living room talking to Chan about the funeral which was to happen next week. Then they'd take Hyunjin with them soon afterwards.

Planning a funeral in this mansion. This was a first.

___

Hyunjin's POV

I hear the nurse's footsteps as she leaves the room.

I've given up on life actually. What's the point of living when the person who used to make you happy is no longer with you?

His smile that always made me lose my breath, his innocent heart, his warmth. His words and everything he said was like music to my ears.

What's a world without someone like Felix?

His screams still echo in my head; it's driving me insane! That horrified look he gave me when he was being taken, it looked like a plea for me to save him, for me to do something.

But I couldn't do anything.

Now he's gone. I'm alone now with a broken heart. Or do I even have one anymore?

Felix was my heart, as well as my heartbeat. But when he isn't there, then there is no hope for me.

He was the light to my dark world, the wind beneath my wings, the epitome of love and understanding. He was the biggest reason for my smile. He was my everything.

We had made a promise to one another. Way before the matters of engagement or even the thought of marriage.

We had promised to be together forever, we promised to love one another for eternity if it existed. We made a promise that even if one of us leaves, whether it was from this relationship or from the face of this earth, the other would follow.

I promised. I promised to follow him wherever he'd go. I want to fulfill that promise. It was a sacred promise between us.

Wherever he goes, I follow.

...

I feel a heavy pang in my chest. It hurts. A lot.

Tears silently escape and run down my cheeks.

.....

I feel a gentle touch on my hand. I manage to move my focus from blank space.

There is another hand there other than mine. Smaller, and precious. It's a hand that I've held so many times, I'd be able to outline it anytime.

I see the beautiful face of my lover. He's smiling at me. He seems to be very happy in whatever realm he's in.

....

"F.... F-Felix..." I manage to utter in my state.

...

.....

As the world turns dark...

...

... I breathe my last breath...

....

And up ahead, I see a bright light...

... It's inviting, it's warm...

It's safe...

......

... I'm with the person that I love now...

... Because... I had promised...

"...Wherever you go, ... I follow..."

"Can you please go and check on Hyunjin?" Chan asked the maid in the hall.

The maid nodded and did as she was told.

"So, I hope you'll be able to attend with the rest of the family."

"We'll see," said Mrs Hwang. "Felix was close to us as well. Hyunjin really loved him a lot. We just didn't think it would affect him this terribly."

"It's a shocking matter indeed," said Chan, "I feel his pain."

He truly did. Felix was like a brother to him. He just left this world within the blink of an eye.

They kept talking, until a voice called out.

"Master!" The maid hurried into the living room with urgency in her voice. "Master! Something terrible has happened."

"What is it?" Chan stood up.

"When I went to check on Master Hwang, I found that he wasn't breathing nor was he waking up," she explained with tears in her eyes.

They quickly paced towards the room. Chan immediately went up to Hyunjin's wheelchair and started shaking him.

"Hyunjin? Hyunjin?! Open your eyes, mate," He pleaded desperately with teary eyes. "Hyunjin! You can't do this... Hyunjin?"

The nurse pulled him to the side and did a quick examination on Hyunjin. Seconds after, she looked at the three apologetically. "I'm afraid he's been out for longer than ten minutes now. I'm sorry. He's passed away..."

Mrs Hwang wailed for the loss of her only son. Mr Hwang only shed silent tears with disbelief of what has just happened as he held his wife close.

Chan stumbled back before storming out of the room, heading towards the stairs.

'Why is this happening?' he asked himself. 'Why is this happening?!'
