Chan was on a serious phone call with his sources. This was a matter of urgency that needed to be solved as soon as possibly can.

Then there was a gentle knock on the door. Chan turned around, seeing Jeongin taking a single small step forward.

Chan continued to talk, but he still went towards Jeongin and wrapped an arm around his waist, planting a quick kiss onto his forehead. He was really aggressive with his words when talking to the person on the other line. Different curses were flying out of his mouth in both English and Korean.

But when he ended the call, he looked at his boyfriend with the most adoring eyes in the world. "What's wrong, love?"

"I'm about to leave in a few minutes," he said in a very low tone. "But... I don't want to leave you."

"I know, my love. I don't want you to leave either."

"Why can't I just be here?"

"You know why. Being around me could a threat to your safety, and I'm just thinking about what's best for you. We believe that being away from me could possibly be the safest move we've got, because whoever killed Felix could probably come after you next."

Jeongin looked down sadly.

"This means we might not see each other for a while," said Chan.

Jeongin locked eyes with Chan. "Then... kiss me like it's our last..."

"It won't be, though."

"I know, it's just... It's going to feel difficult to cope without you until we can solve this problem. That's why..."

"It's okay. We'll be able to call, right?"

"I honestly don't know if my mom's going to be that lenient, but I suppose," Jeongin replied. Saying that, he realized how much of a mama's boy he was, depending on his mother's choices and approval for almost everything.

Chan connected their lips gently. He wanted to savor this moment, to cherish it, to carve it into his mind until he's able to see it replay again when this is all over. He looped both arms around Jeongin's waist, pulling him closer while balling fists with the hoodie Jeongin had stolen from him.

Jeongin cupped his face, one hand slipping back to tangle into Chan's hair.

The kiss slowly turned. Chan's tongue licked at Jeongin's lips, wanting access into his mouth. It was now a mix of teeth and tongue, both brushing at each other desperately.

'I don't want seperation...' Jeongin's mind said, 'I want to be with you right now... No where else... I don't care if I'm not safe being around you, I just need you...'

That was the last moment they shared before they seperated – Chan kissing Jeongin like there was no tomorrow, Chan pulling the hood of the black hoodie up on Jeongin's head, Chan pinching Jeongin's cheeks and loving how he whined adorably.

It was going to be torturous without Jeongin.

Mr and Mrs Cho had come to see their daughter.

It's been five days in the hospital and the hospital room was making Sungmi feel sicker than she already was.

Luckily, they were allowed to bring a baby along. Jiwon had been crying for her mother on a daily basis.

Right now, the little infant was in her grandmother's lap, playing with Sungmi's hand and seeming invested in whatever she was doing.

"The doctor said you're being discharged tomorrow," said Mr Cho.
