Chapter 55

(A/n: As the author, I am going to ask you to try and keep track of the story line with each scene in the following two chapters because, personally, I was also beginning to get confused with a lot of stuff. Just bare with me 🙏🏾)

*08:47 p.m.*

Guns were loaded. Weapons were ready. Earpieces were working accordingly.

"The location has been sent," said Seungmin while looking at his trusty tablet in his hands.

The place was three hours away, but they wanted to get there as soon as they possibly could.

"Aunt!" Jisung came rushing down the stairs with a panic. "Aunt, I'm coming with you."

"Jisung, no. You're staying here."

"She's right, Ji," said Minho following quickly behind his husband. "You can't go with them. It's too dangerous-"

"This is our daughter, Minho! She needs me!"

"Everything's going to be fine. They'll find her. But you're not going anywhere."

"But-"

"Jisung!" Mrs Yang held him by the shoulders. "I understand she's your daughter. You have every right to feel panicked about this matter. But we're already in a crisis here. Two lives are at stake. We can't have you put in danger as well, do you understand?" Chaerin said in a raised voice.

"I just want my daughter back," Jisung cried.

Chaerin pulled him in for a tight hug. "We'll find her and bring her back to you, dear. Don't worry. I promise she'll be back very soon. Please calm down."

She then felt Jisung suddenly go limp in her arms. The man had fainted all of a sudden.

"Jisung?!" Minho immediately went down and held the unconscious Jisung in his embrace.

"Minho please take care of him. We'll be back soon. Don't worry."

"Just find her, please," Minho said with tears now welling up in his eyes.

"We will. I promise, Minho," Mrs Yang reassured him.

They quickly got everything ready and stepped out of the Yang mansion.

This was a mission.

Chan took his own car, because Hye-ri had specifically said that he need to come alone.

So Seungmin and the rest of the team would come later on when needed.

The drive was long. The location Chan had received was somewhere in the middle of nowhere. There was a thicket of trees and greenery right behind the building. He had now entered new territory, a very silent and desolate place.

The sounds of the city were quieted very far away behind him.

Chan stepped out of the car and slammed the door with a bit too much force. He went towards the guarded entrance before walking inside the structure with his guard up.

"Should we go inside now?"

"Wait." Chaerin looked through her binoculars, seeing Chan enter the building after being searched for any weapons or wires.

She then turned to looked at Riyu – her secretary – with a nod.

(A/n: I remembered that I hadn't given Mrs Yang's secretary a name at all many chapters ago. So I just kinda wanted to give her a bit of character this time around, ya know? I introduce to you, Ms Min Ri Yu.)
