Detective Din Muktar was familiar with things any average human wouldn't ever face in their lives.
From the murder of his best friend.
To now the devastating death of his fiance, he has grown a tough shell over the years.
He was a man of his word when he said he would find the person who took his love from him.
He didn't have many leads, just a homeless man who saw her enter and leave a bar just an hour before her death.
" He said she looked frantic. Her eyes said it all." Said His partner.
Din was all over the case, along with his work buddy Mitchell who had a good eye in forensics.
" Who was the second lead?"
Mitchell put out a photo of a woman. Beautiful, was all that struck the young detectives pupils.
" She goes by Lucy. No, middle name, no last name. She's not even in the system. I tried running her name a few times." Mitchell informed.
" What does she want with me. Why didnt she want to talk to you? You said she didn't seem as though she had nothing to do with it." Din said.
" She asked about you. I think she likes you. She said she knew your fiance."
Din looked at the photo of the woman in silence. Her eyes were an emerald green, but her skin was a very brown color with white hair shooting out of the follicles on her head.
She looked very eccentric, but beautiful.
" Do you have a number on her?"
" She owns a bar, the same bar the homeless man witness your fiance leave from that night of her demise. Here."
Mitchell passed Din the card of the woman's business.
" She gave me her card to give to you."
" I'll be calling her tonight, before I hit the sheets. Good work partner." Din smiled, packing up some of his things on his desk to go home.
" You should take a leave, and let me handle the case." Mitchell suggested.
" No, this was my wife. Ill handle it."
" Din, you just lost your woman. Go home. The lieutenant will understand. "
Din grabbed his bag off the table and sighed. As much as he wanted to rest and get some well proper sleep and have a couple of beers, his fiance was more important.
" I'll see you tomorrow. I'll let you know how everything goes."

She went by Lucy. Just like Mitchell said. Her voice was rich and laced with maturity and wisdom. She seemed, delighted to hear from the young Detective. Knowing exactly who it was that answered the phone.
She agreed to a small meet with Din at around 3 the next day.
Upon his arrival, a sign The inferno, couldn't be missed as it was the name of a bar. Her bar.
Din dressed casual, with his gun on his hip at all times. His dreads hung low with a black durag complimenting his all black look.
Once entering, the place was empty. Maybe she did that on purpose, maybe it was just a slow day. But one thing Din noticed was the automatic click of the door.
