"Have you heard, they're moving us to the dorms," Shoto said as he sat down at the lunch table with a bowl of rice.
She had woken up in her bed, curled up with his arms wrapped protectively around her. They had both decided not to talk about what had happened last night.
Her emotions now weren't as volatile as they had been. She thought it was probably because she never really got a good chance to just cry at the knowledge of everything she'd known being false, and when she finally did after holding it in, she just broke. Crying the whole night had made her feel slightly refreshed in the morning, slightly happier despite the lingering touch of sadness that she thought was going to be a permanent addition to her life.
"Oh, really?" Despite herself, her eyes lit up at the knowledge that she might not have to face her father anymore.
Endeavour walked into the room, making the pair stiffen. Shoto had already explained to his father why Yuka was there, but it still felt like Endeavour was scrutinizing her everytime she walked by, staring at her large white wings that had knocked down one of his expensive vases that morning.
"All Might and Eraser will be coming and talking to me personally." Endeavour said. "To ensure they have my full consent."
Yuka frowned as she ate, not believing for a second that her father would let her go to the dorms. Especially now that she knew the reason behind his controlling behaviour. He probably already knew that she knew about his involvement, considering the fact he was in on her every step to become the future All for One had envisioned.
"Are you going to let me go?" Shoto asked, his tone obviously not caring very much whether or not his dad let him.
Yuka tuned the rest of their conversation out, chewing slowly on her food and wondering how she could move into her dorms in her situation.
Yuka's heart was heavy as she approached All Might's office. Her best chance was to talk to him. She needed pity. She needed him to understand how she felt so that he could make an exception for her. He was a hero after all. He would understand.
She knocked softly on the door, and All Might's voice called out from within, "Come in."
Yuka opened the door and stepped inside. All Might was at his desk, his expression shifting from concentration to concern as he saw her. He gestured to the chairs in front of his desk. She settled down, still not used to the scrawnier version of the mighty hero she saw on TV.
"Yuka, come in. How are you doing today?" All Might asked with genuine concern. His eyes flickered to her wings like they all did.
Yuka looked down, her fingers nervously twisting together in her lap. "I'm... struggling," she admitted. "I need to talk to you about something."
