During breakfast, everyone was pretty chilled and fixated on their conversation with each other, so I used the opportunity to try and get away because why not.
I jumped up abruptly and shot towards the exit of the room as fast as I could, only to crash into someone's chest. I looked up to see Pietro smiling down at me. How did he get here so fast?
"Going somewhere?" He asked smirking.
I huffed annoyed, ducked away under his arms and continued to run, which sadly resulted in me bumping with my head in his chest once again.
I stumbled backwards, but quickly recovered and exclaimed: "how!?", throwing my arms in the air in frustration.
"You won't outrun me, prințesă" he stated and gestured to the kitchen area.
"Was worth a try" I mumbled as he led me back to the others and I was pushed back down onto the chair.
Well, that was embarrassing.
"Do it again and we can show you the new functions straight away" Stark smiled, but I heard the threat in his voice. I just huffed and sent him a scowl.
The rest of the day was relatively boring. Yelena showed me her room, which was massive and I really liked the huge window wall that covered one entire side of it.
Yelena had to remove all weapons, which lasted quite a while, and gave them to Natasha. They didn't want to take any chances with me, hurting someone. Of course I would never do that.
We hang out in the common area, but I noticed everyone looking at me from time to time, which was slightly distracting. However, I quickly made friends with the other teenagers, even though most of them were one or two years older than me.
Pietro seemed like he had a lot of energy, always wanting to do something and in a happy mood. Peter looked like a puppy and was very kind and polite to everyone, but he also had a playful and active personality.
Wanda was very calm and observing, a nice match to her twin brother, but she also liked to play around and use her powers to make Pietro stumble when he sped through the rooms.
Kate always looked slightly intimidated by me, but quickly warmed up and had a completely different personality when she got comfortable with me. She was like half a Peter and liked asking hundreds of questions. And Yelena, well she was just Yelena..
I noticed that the Avengers were constantly mocking each other, but would get extremely protective over their team members if they would be in danger or anything else happened to them. My guess was proved as I thought back to when I escaped the cell. They were instantly concerned about Wanda, but still didn't want to hurt me, even after I attacked them.
I actually got along quite well with everyone, the only problem appeared when Yelena and I went to go to sleep. We had to share a bed, which was fine, since it was big enough for four people, but none of us trusted the other enough, to fall sleep first.
In the end, we were just lying there, trying to keep our heavy eyes open. After a while, Yelena turned her back to me, but I knew she was ready to defend herself at any time.
I shifted into my snow leopard form, since I felt more comfortable and save in it. Also, it was my favorite form to be in.
I curled up, carefully wrapping my tail around me and covering my sensitive nose with it. Just as I closed my eyes, I felt something wrap around me and stiffened.
I looked at Yelena, who had cuddled herself into me in her sleep, using me as a big pillow. She send waves of warmth to me and I closed my eyes, letting me sooth from her presence.
I've completely forgotten how it was to cuddle with someone. How it was to feel safe. The last days, I was constantly on edge, always having my guard up and not trusting anyone.
However now, I ignored these feelings, just adjusting myself to her peaceful state and letting myself drift off into sleep as well.
I was awoken by a knocking sound. However I just closed my eyes again, not wanting to get up. I got annoyed as the knocks didn't stop and soon heard Clint's voice, filled with worry. "Yelena? You okay?"
No reply. Of course. The assassin was still fast asleep and curled up, perfectly matching my form like a puzzle piece.
The door opened, but I didn't pay attention to whatever he wanted this early. I was still half asleep, too drowsy to get what was happening until I heard the archer again.
"You'll hate me for this, but I don't care" he said and I heard a 'click'.
My head shot in his direction as he grinned at me, phone in his hands and sending the photo he just took of us to everyone.
My eyes widened and I jumped up, charging at the man. The sudden movement making Yelena wake up and she made a squeaky sound as I left a cold spot on her back where I was laying a second ago.
Clint quickly put his phone into his pocket as he ran for his live, with me sprinting after him. He jumped down the stairs, which gave him some distance from me, and raced into the common room.
A few Avengers were already there, drinking coffee or reading newspapers. Clint hid behind Tony, whose eyes widened as I ran at them, ignoring my still sore leg.
Before I could reach the two scared looking men, I was harshly pulled back by the collar and landed on the ground. I growled deeply at Steve, who successfully held me down and he send a questioning look at Clint.
"What's up with her?" He asked.
"I don't know" he shrugged innocently and I snarled.
"Clint" Natasha warned.
The archer sighed, but smirked widely as he spoke. "I took a cute picture of them while they were cuddling"
Starkes eyes lid up as his expression turned into a mischievous smile. "Hold on, I need to look at that" he smirked and Clint pulled out his phone to show Tony the picture.
Steve rolled his eyes, but continued to hold onto the collar, which was probably a good idea of him. I would definitely leave a few scratches at his friend if I could.
Fortunately for me, Yelena made her way into the room and frowned as she saw me and Steve on the floor. "What's happened?" She asked puzzled.
"They took a photo of y/n and you while you were sleeping" Steve shrugged and Yelena glared at the men.
Their eyes widened and smiles faded as she approached them, holding a hand out for the phone. Instead of giving up, they decided to run, Yelena close behind them.
Steve and I just sat there for a second until he let go and mumbled: "I'm making breakfast", walking over to the kitchen area of the huge room.
I shifted into human and joined him with cooking for everyone. Sure, I wanted to leave, but it just felt wrong not to do anything.
A few minutes later, we were startled from Clint's high pitched scream and a "No regrets!", somewhere out of the vents.
I looked at Steve with wide eyes, but he just shrugged. "He's fine. It's not uncommon for him to get his ass beaten up by Yelena or Nat"
Oh, what a beautiful way to start the morning.
