Y/n's pov:
"Y/n, Mr. Stark has demanded you to, I quote, 'get up and get your ass down here for breakfast' " JARVIS' voice ripped me out of my peaceful sleep and made me almost fall out of bed.
"What the hell, Stark" I mumbled as I stood up.
Everything was spinning slightly and I had a crazy headache. However, I just quickly cleaned myself up to look semi- presentable, but remained in my pajamas.
I groggily walked into the elevator and drove to the common room, where everyone except from Yelena and Pietro already waited.
"Good morning, sunshine" Tony cheered and smirked at my appearance.
"Shut up" I grumbled, earning a warning "y/n, be nice" from Steve.
"Bad mood, hm" the billionaire teased and I really struggled not to shift into a tiger and give him a little makeover with my claws.
I groaned as I sat down, ignoring the chuckles from the others. Now everything was spinning even more and I felt my senses being on overload, which I never experienced before since I could remember.
"Lady of cats, why are you in such a bad mood?" Thor's booming voice made me squeeze my eyes shut.
"Please Thor, be quiet" I groaned.
"I'm sorry, lady y/n" he apologized immediately.
"It's fine I just have a massive headache... and is it normal that everything's spinning?" I asked confused.
"You're hangover. A headache is normal, but there should not be anything spinning actually" Nat said and sat down next to me, maybe thinking I would faint or something.
"I think her senses are overloaded. They're enhanced, just like Peter's, but it's probably a lot worse on her, since she drank more" Bruce assumed.
"Oh, fuck me" I grumbled to myself.
"Gladly" a voice answered and I looked up to a smirking Yelena, who just entered the room.
"Discuss that in your room" Pietro said as he suddenly appeared with a blue blur.
"Wanna join?" Yelena smirked, making the silver haired boy blush slightly.
"Yelena" Nat warned, making the younger assassin roll her eyes playfully.
"Whatever, topic change" Tony suddenly said. "We still need to talk about yesterday"
All of the teenagers mumbled in complaining, but the adults didn't let us go, so we had to sit down on the big couch and let ourselves be lectured.
After half an hour, they were finally finished and I quickly walked into my room to relax my senses, but unfortunately a certain blonde super soldier followed me.
"Not now dad, didn't you annoy me enough already" I snapped and laid down on my bed.
"I'm here to speak about something else" he said and sat down on my bed as well. "I don't know if you remember, but you said you were in pain when Nat took away your drink. What did you mean?"
I needed a moment to think what had happened, but I couldn't remember. I still knew what he meant though.
"Sorry, I don't remember, but I'm completely fine" I assured.
"You're a good liar, but you won't get away with this one. If something bothers you, please tell me. I will understand you, trust me" he stated and I sighed.
"It's just.. I'm just overthinking everything" I told him. "Someone in HYDRA once told me, the people find a hero amusing for a while, but in spite of everything they've done, eventually they will hate them. They will always have something to complain about because the one thing they love more than a hero, is to see a hero fail" (A/N: see what I've done here?.. ;) )
"And look what happened with the accords"
Steve stayed silent, giving me space to finish.
"Everyone loves a good drama, just until it comes to them. Then they will suddenly want the hero to save 'em"
"HYDRA might be right, but they forgot one thing. The thing that makes a person a hero" Steve said. "Even if everyone hates them, even if they're alone and unsupported, a true hero will always fight for the people, for the good. Even if they die trying. We understand it, HYDRA don't, and that's what makes us the heroes"
I thought about his words. It made sense. HYDRA believed they could reach everything if they would just use enough force, but in the end it would destroy them at some point.
"And also, we solved the issue with the accords. The people were just afraid. They couldn't understand Wanda's or Loki's powers, they hadn't had any kind of control or knowledge about us, so they were scared. But then SHIELD made some compromises, explanations, gave the people something about us. And it worked, we learned from it, so we know what to do if something like that happens again" he finished.
"Guess that makes sense" I mumbled. "I'm just not sure if I'd be the right person for this hero thing. What if I mess up everything? I mean last time I left the tower I got kidnapped and was the reason that peoples lives were in danger"
He put a hand on my shoulder and send me a sympathetic, but also determined glare.
"I know you're blaming yourself for this, but firstly no one of those people were hurt and we got you back, secondly yes, it was a mistake and extremely stupid of you, but mistakes happen and I'm sure you've learned from it, so it's fine now" he said.
I sighed. He was right, even though I would never admit it directly. I just needed to stop overthinking things, which couldn't be that hard, since I was pretty good in doing stuff without thinking.
I send him a smile, but clutched my head as another wave of my headache hit me.
"This isn't fair" I whined and Steve chuckled amused.
"You deserve it. Should've listen to us, but however let's get you some water" he said as I groaned.
He practically dragged me through the hallway and into the common room.
"Nooo, they're all too loud" I complained, but he just picked me up and sat me down onto the couch, where Yelena was watching a movie.
Luckily, there were only a few people.
"Doesn't Bruce and Tony have something for this?" I asked curiously, earning a devilish chuckle from Bucky and Sam, who were playing air hockey against each other.
"They do. What do you think why no one of us adults is hungover, huh? Tony's drinking so much, he got annoyed and invented something for it, we just decided not to give it to you because you need to be punished" Steve explained and Yelena and I stared at him disbelievingly.
He handed me the water and smiled innocently. I just downed it and positioned myself next to Yelena under the blanket.
"Oh no, you made her upset" Yelena smirked.
"Oh shut up everyone" I grumbled and Sam and Bucky gasped dramatically, holding their hands up to both sides of their head.
"Steve!" Sam exclaimed hysterically. "She just said a bad language word!"
"One time, it was one time!" Steve stated annoyed. "I won't say it!"
I just listened to the conversation confused, but shrugged it off and leaned against Yelena, who subconsciously started to play with my hair, soothing my senses and making me close my eyes.
And before I even realized it, I drifted off into sleep, slightly smiling to myself.
