Surprises In The Diary

Nathan sat on his bed, fanning himself with his hands as he read the diary, the darkness of the power outage in Singapore enveloping him.

He continued reading the entry from 17 March 2023, his eyes scanning the pages with a mix of emotions.

As he read on, his eyes widened in surprise. Karen wrote that Li Hao, Nathan's father, had unexpectedly shown up at the beach to tell them that their wedding was set for 24 March 2023.

Nathan's heart skipped a beat as he read Karen's words, her dismay and hatred palpable on the page.

"He just showed up out of nowhere, with that smug look on his face," Karen wrote. "Telling us that our wedding is in a week, like it's already been decided for us. I feel like I'm being suffocated, trapped in this arrangement. I don't want to marry Nathan, not like this."

Nathan's face had fallen, guilt and regret washing over him as he read Karen's words. But as he continued reading, his expression changed. A mix of surprise and curiosity crossed his face.

Karen's next entry revealed a shocking truth. "No one else will see this diary anyways," she wrote. "But after Nathan kissed me, I didn't just feel a spark. I felt a surge of lust for him. I can't believe I'm admitting this, but it's true. I want him, physically and desperately."
