Last Light Of Hope

Nathan thought all hope was lost, he lay on the floor, amidst the burning flames that engulfed the hallway.

But then his eyes fluttered open, he felt two figures lifting him up, their faces etched with concern and determination.

It was Richard, Karen's father, and Raymond, Karen's uncle and Richard's younger brother.
They wore grim expressions, their eyes red from the smoke, but their grip on Nathan was firm.

"Come on, let's go!" Richard shouted above the roar of the fire, his voice hoarse from inhaling smoke.

Anne, Raymond's wife, was in front of them, carrying Yu Qing in her arms and holding Meng Qi's hand with the other.

Yu Qing's face was pale, and Meng Qi's eyes were closed, but Anne's gaze was fixed on the exit, her jaw set in determination.

"Come on!" Anne cried, her voice cracking with urgency.

Raymond and Richard supported Nathan in both arms, their hands under his shoulders and legs, and they all ran through the flames, desperately seeking escape from the inferno that surrounded them.

The heat was intense, the smoke choking, but they pushed forward, their only goal to reach safety.

As they ran through the flames, Nathan turned back to see Karen attempting to shoot them with the gun, but it was out of bullets.

He watched in horror as she walked into another room, disappearing from view. But he was unable to run back to her, as Raymond and Richard dragged him forward, their grip unyielding.

The heat was intense, the smoke choking, but they pushed forward, driven by their desperation to escape the inferno.

Nathan's heart was heavy with fear for Karen, but he was powerless to help her, trapped in the grip of his rescuers.......
