As they settled into the Lim's bungalow in the dark, it was already 4am. Natalie sighed and shook her head, "Can't believe all this happened on Karen's birthday. Of all days..."

Nathan's eyes widened as he suddenly realized, "Wait, it was Karen's birthday? "

Natalie nodded, "Yeah. 30 November. Happy birthday to her, wherever she is."

Nathan's expression changed from concern to shock, "How could I forget? I'm such an idiot."

Natalie raised an eyebrow, "You're just realizing that now? After all the chaos we've been through?"

Nathan rubbed his temples, feeling a mix of guilt and worry, "I don't know, Nat. I feel like I've been living in a bubble. First, Uncle Stanley's manipulation, then the brawl, and now Karen's disappearance... it's all too much."

Natalie's expression softened, "We'll get through this, Nate. We have to."

Nathan looked at her, his eyes searching for reassurance, "You're right. We need to find Karen and make sure she's okay. This is her special day, and it's been ruined."

Natalie nodded, "Let's get some rest and start looking for her in the morning. We can't do anything else tonight."

Nathan nodded, feeling a sense of determination wash over him, "You're right. We'll find her, Nat. I promise."

As they settled in for the night, Nathan couldn't shake off the feeling of guilt and worry. He had never forgotten a birthday before, especially not Karen's. But now, with everything that had happened, he realized how much he had taken her for granted.

He made a silent vow to himself to make it up to her, once they found her. He would do anything to bring her home safe and sound........
