"FRIDAY lock down my floor." Madeline said as she got ready for bed.
"Yes, Miss Stark, may I ask why?"
"Because my father's a controlling egomaniac who doesn't understand that I can make my own choices."
——four days later——
"You haven't even checked on her? Tony!"
"Pepper! What am I supposed to do? I'm not a parent! I don't know how to parent!"
"Well that's becoming increasingly obvious."
It had been four days since Madeline had put her floor on lockdown, refusing any and every visitor that came to her door.
Though to no one's surprise, Tony wasn't one of them.
But he'd never been in the same building as her for more than six hours and now that she was living with him he didn't really know what to do.
The two made their way to her floor, Pepper overriding FRIDAYS lockdown.
"Madeleine? Are you in there?" Pepper knocked on her bedroom door and waited for an answer.
"Maddy, you there?" Tony tried but still no answer.
Even after pepper's glare and silently telling him not to, Tony went in, only to see her asleep. At four in the afternoon. In the same jumper she arrived in.
"Jesus Christ.. Madeleine, wake up, it's four."
"Four's early." She groaned and pulled her blanket further over her head.
"Four in the afternoon, sweetie." Pepper also came over, picking up the empty bottles of water from the floor and throwing them in the bin. "When was the last time you ate?"
"When we had pizza."
Tony and pepper shared a glance and Tony patted his daughters shoulder.
"Honey, you need to get up, take a shower, put on some clean clothes okay? I'll wait in the living room and we'll order some food, you can come down, meet the team, and tomorrow you can go shopping with my credit card."
"How much can I spend?"
"No more than 700k."
"Cheap."
"Fine, a million, what do you wanna hear?" Tony groaned.
"You can spend as much as you want, Maddy." Pepper said, handing her Tony's card and ignoring his complaints.
"I'll get up just five more minutes."
"We'll wait out there." Pepper patted her shoulder and lead Tony out, still ignoring his muttering about 'how'd you even get my card?"
