By the time Maddy got back with Morgan, everyone was ready to eat dinner.
Pizza was on the table, they were just waiting for the two young Starks to return.
Madeline walked in carrying Morgan on her hip, immediately greeted by Pepper and a nervous looking Tony.
Everyone greeted Madeline but she stayed silent, refusing to engage with friends of her fathers.
Pepper took Morgan up to start getting ready for bed, as it was already 7, whilst Tony went into the kitchen with Maddy to talk.
"Yes?"
"Would you mind not acting like it's the end of the world the second you're in the same room as my colleagues?" Tony groaned, slightly glaring at Maddy.
"I could, but that's just how it feels."
"Alright, listen here." Tony started. "You are going to behave. You're going to be nice to my coworkers, and especially friendly to the ones who are trying to make you feel at home. I hear Steve's going furniture shopping with you?"
"No. I'll go on my own." She snapped. "I don't want to have to pretend to like you people." She turned her back and started walking out.
"Can't avoid everyone forever."
"It's a big tower, Tony, I think I can."
"Everything okay?" Bruce asked as she stormed past him.
"Fuck off Banner."
When she got to her floor she saw Happy standing awkwardly in the middle of the room, Bucky and Sam on the floor.
The two avengers didn't notice her come in - Bucky was too busy slapping Sam's hand away every time he reached for the pizza.
"It's for Starks daughter."
"She's tiny, there's no way she'd eat a whole xxxl pizza!"
"Yes I would, pigeon." She said, cracking a small smile as she picked it up from the floor, as the two of them rushed to stand up.
"Hey, Maddy," Happy started. "Had a feeling things wouldn't go so well with Tony's dad talk." He said, as she gave him a hug. "Saved you a pizza. Double pepperoni with double black olives, your favourite."
"Thanks Happy." She smiled. "At least my second dad actually knows me."
Before he could reply FRIDAY called him away, and he gave Madeline a pat on the shoulder before rushing off to fix whatever mess Tony had created this time.
"And you guys are here because?"
"We thought you might like some company." Sam smiled. "Wanda and Peter are on their way up right now."
"Actually, I'd rather just be on my own tonight."
The two shared a glance and Bucky nodded.
"Of course, doll. If you change your mind you know where to find us."
She forced a smile as the two made their way out.
The pizza and offering her company was a nice gesture, and made her feel better for a while.
But the mention of whoever the hell Peter is just put her straight back into her previous angry mood.
