After spending the rest of the day in bed, Madeline decided to spend the night planning on how she was going to personalise her floor, rather than having it just as basic as every other room in the tower.
So, three Pinterest boards later, and uncountable orders on Tony's credit card (including a McDonald's order), she was finally done, and her packages were set to arrive the next day.
She woke up, around 2pm as always, and got straight to work on painting her room.
The colour wasn't exactly what she expected; slightly more green than baby blue, with weird dashes of red in it. It was also really thin, and there was significantly less than she ordered.
But she thought nothing of it, and proceeded to paint her bedroom and about half of her living room that colour, before Tony decided to make an appearance.
"We need to talk."
"Yeah, can it wait? I'm not feeling so good, but I wanna finish this today." She mumbled, suddenly realising that her mild headache had turned to severe nausea and feeling unbelievably lightheaded.
"Of course you're not feeling good, it's called withdrawal." He groaned, grabbing a brush and joining in, knowing that she wouldn't talk unless he contributed something to this. "You realise we can just hire people to do this, right?"
"Yes, well, my mother always said, why pay something to do it, if you can do it yourself for free."
Tony paused, a confused look his face. Angelina had a lot of sayings, but the only one sounding anything like that was 'why do things yourself when you can pay someone else to do them?'
"Yeah, I don't think that's what she said." He muttered.
"Yeah, no, i don't think I got that right." She agreed, putting the brush down and taking a seat.
"Ok, I'm gonna cut you some slack," Tony started, taking a seat on the other couch. "I'll let you get out of this withdrawal phase, and then we'll talk about your actions. Until then, maybe take a nap. You don't look so good."
"Yeah, I get my ugly from you." Maddy groaned, rubbing her temple.
Tony rolled his eyes, and then took a moment to think, before picturing Angelina and agreeing. "Fair enough, your mother was.. stunning."
"Yeah." Maddy mumbled, looking down. And suddenly she couldn't control any of her emotions and started sobbing.
And for the first time since Madeline was eight years old, she let her father hug her.
He immediately got up and rushed to her side, putting his arm around her shoulder, and then wrapping his other arm around her in an attempt to comfort her, which surprisingly worked.
Tears streamed down Madeline's face as she cried, unable to form any words. But Tony knew what she wanted to say. She missed her mom. And all the previously ignored guilt of not being there for Madeline when she passed hit him like a truck.
Now, he was determined to make it up to her.
Ok I know someone said that I should post longer chapters, so do u want longer chapters with more time between updates?? Or this length chapters with shorter time between updates??
Also sorry about the slow updates, I've been hella busy lately, and I can't promise that I'll post more soon, I'm going on vacation next week so I need to pack sm stuff it's a three week trip and I probably won't be able to post much during that time.
(Unless I get really drunk every night, in that case u should expect 3 chapters per day - riddled with spelling mistakes that will get fixed once I'm home)
please reply in the comments !!
