The dinner was long and awkward, and Madeline didn't stay for dessert. She left early and made her way back to the tower.

..only to be followed by her father.

"That was a shit show, but you still need to say sorry to Bruce."

She ignored him and went to her floor, dropped off her bag and coat, before making her way down to the lab where she hoped Bruce would be, still followed her her father, though now tuning out his lectures.

"Banner!" She yelled, walking further into the lab.

"Hey, Madeline, everything okay? You look angry?" He said, timidly, stepping out from around the corner.

"Yeah, sorry." She sighed, and glanced at her father to see a stern expression on his face. Another slightly evil idea to torture him with popped into her head.

She stepped right up to Bruce mad put her hand on his arm, looking up at him with big eyes as she said in the most sincere voice she could muster "I'm so sorry about how rude I was to you the other day. I was just mad at Tony, and I took it out on you."

"It's fine Madeline, don't worry about it. I know how.. frustrating it can be to get your father to listen." He smiled, adding the last bit in a low tone.

"You know, I'm pretty busy for the next week, but I'm free after my birthday. We should spend some time getting to know each other." She said, biting her lip. "I could help you out sometime in here."

"Sure yeah. We will be living in the same tower. And I hear you're a little bit of an engineer yourself?"

"I built a couple robo Barbie's when I was little.. and a lipstick tracking device, but not much in the last couple years." Maddy laughed, now remembering the robots she built with Happy in her adolescence.

"Yeah, I'll let you know if I need an assistant for something. Thanks Madeline."

"Just Maddy is fine." She said and flashed another one of her flirty smiles. "I'll see you around."

"Yeah, see you... around." He nodded, and walked back to where he was working.

Maddy walked towards the elevator, once again followed by her father.

"Is this funny to you?"

"No, what would make you think that?" She asked, holing back a laugh.

"Why do you insist on flirting with all my coworker? You're seventeen it's not appropriate."

"It's not flirting, I'm being friendly. Just like you told me to." She smiled, and dashed out the elevator and into her bedroom, slamming the door behind her before her father could say another word.
