The walk home was spent talking about Madeline's many 'bad girl' experiences at boarding school.
Some stories including simple stuff; smoking cigarettes in the bathrooms and behind the buildings, getting sent out of cows for being disruptive or not doing any work.
Other anecdotes were a little less controlled: setting fire to paper in bins by the teachers desks, a Carrie inspired prank at prom - no students were victims of artificial pigs blood, only the demon headmaster everyone hated.
That one was why she was allowed to graduate early. They couldn't prove it was her, but needed her out of the school before her practical jokes got a little too destructive, so thanks to her top grades, they were able to force her out without any problems.
By the time they got back everyone else had already finished eating, and were now watching sex and the city (Wanda's choice) and playing uno.
Bucky and Madeline sat down at the table in the kitchen, away from the group, while they ate.
Both were practically starving, and ate whilst watching the tv in a comfortable silence.
"Okay, if ultra mini skirts didn't give you a stroke, the name of this show must've at least put Steve in the ER." She said just after finishing her food.
Bucky laughed and grabbed their rubbish, standing up to put it in the bin, along with the trash from the rest of the group. "He was mildly outraged, but tried to hide it."
"I'm guessing he failed?"
"Badly."
"Of course." She smiled and then yawned, running a hand through her hair. "I should sleep soon."
"Stay for a game of uno!" Sam called from the couch, and she looked at Bucky before agreeing.
He hadn't given her any indication to stay, except for a sleepy half smile.
And that, combined with all the rest of his features made it near impossible for Maddy to say goodnight just yet.
The two of them walked over to the living room area, and took seats on the floor by the coffee table (the only available seats.
Sam handed out cards, and before they knew it an hour had passed, and it was nearing 2:30 am.
Half on them had stopped playing uno, Pietro was back to playing ping pong by himself, speeding around the table every half second, and Natasha was getting ready to turn in for the night.
Peter had fallen asleep on the couch, as had Madeline, though she had fallen asleep on the floor with her head on Bucky's thigh.
Wanda and Sam were still playing their final game of the night, fighting for second place after Bucky had already won.
He sat leaning back with his legs crossed, trying to subtly sneak glances at Maddy without anyone noticing.
"Maybe you should take her upstairs. Let her sleep in her bed instead of on you, on the floor." Natasha suggested as she walked towards the stairs.
"Night tasha." Wanda said, followed by Sam's "Yeah, goodnight Nat."
She was already gone before anyone else could say a word, and Bucky decided it was time to put Madeline in her own bed.
He didn't want to wake her up, so he slowly shuffled out from under her, making sure to hold her head in place, not wanting to wake her up.
He picked her up bridal style and quietly said 'night' to everyone, before going up in the elevator.
