By the time she was out everything except three last boxes were done, and she went to take a seat on the new couch, before remembering the conversation with Bucky the previous night.
She tapped him on the shoulder and gave him a spin when he turned around to face him.
"An ultra low rise, ultra mini, mini skirt." She announced proudly, putting her hands on her hips.
"Well it's definitely ultra mini.." Bucky mumbled, turning back around and forcing himself to look away from her.
It wasn't even the skirt that had caught his attention.
Her outfit was the last thing he noticed.
What had actually caught his attention was how she looked without her usual full face of makeup and perfectly done hair.
Her hair was still damp from the shower, and fell down her torso, just past her waist.
And she had no makeup on as far as he could tell.
(So basically mascara, lipliner, and some very subtle bronzer ;))
"I really don't think you're old enough to be wearing clothes that revealing." Steve said, earning a laugh from Maddy.
"It's the twenty first century, Captain, this is how girls dress these days." She smiled as she walked over to him. "Don't worry, I do own much longer and more modest skirts, I just save those for the days I want to look modest and respectable."
"And today you're gong for..?" Sam questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"I'm going for.. it's my eighteenth birthday a week from today, and I'm trying to look the part in advance."
"Only a week?" Peter asked. "You having a party?"
"Possibly. I want to, but throwing and planning a party is so much effort, I might just go back to England for a night and go bar hopping with some pre-boarding school friends."
Peter nodded, and then muttered an excuse to leave, rushing down to Pepper's office to ask for permission and help to throw Madeline a surprise party.
"Just in case my dad doesn't get me plane tickets or let me use the jet.. think you guys could sneak me up a bottle of something?" She asked with a very very fake sweet smile.
"No. Underage drinking is illegal." Guess who said that.
She sighed and walked over to Sam, waiting for Steve and Bucky to start a new conversation before whispering "You'll grab me something though, right?"
"Yeah course, what you want? Whiskey? Vodka?"
"Think you can get me some Bacardi? The mojito one?"
"You got it, stark."
"Thanks, Sam." She smiled, and gave him a peck on the cheek, before returning to her room once again, this time to get started on the long, hard, process of blow drying her hair.
