By the time Maddy was done with her shopping spree it was dark out.
Madeline and Happy had taken her favourite one of Tony's cars, an expensive red Lamborghini, with gold detailing, resembling his iron man suit.
They dragged the dozens of shopping bags into the building and up to her floor, where Pepper stood, surrounded by massive boxes.
"Ah, now it makes sense."
"We went to ikea." Maddy said, smiling as she dropping her bags and took a seat on top of the box closest to Pepper.
"No," Happy sighed. "We went everywhere."
"-including ikea."
"I can tell." Pepper said, gesturing around the room. "Want me to get Barnes and Rogers to help put all these together?"
"No, it's fine. I'll ask them myself tomorrow."
Pepper and Happy shared a surprised slash proud look before Pepper nodded.
"Okay.. it's pretty late, I'm guessing you want to sleep?"
"Nah, I've only been awake six hours, remember?" She laughed and jumped off the box. "Is Morgan still up? I haven't seen her today."
"Well you're in luck, she refused to go to bed without a hug from her big sister."
The two of them went down to the floor Pepper, Tony and Morgan shared, to see Morgan clearly struggling to stay awake on the couch while she and Tony watched SpongeBob.
The second Morgan heard the elevator doors open she jumped out of her seat and ran over to Madeline.
"Mazzy!"
Maddy picked her up and spun her around, gently placing her back on the floor and crouching down to her level.
"Mad-dy."
"Mazzy."
"Maddy."
"But I like Mazzy."
"...fine." She laughed and picked up her sister again, carrying her into her bedroom.
Mazzy is what Morgan called Madeline the first time they met.
Morgan was about three, and found Madeline too hard to pronounce, and didn't even bother with her usual nicknames, Maddy or Mads.
Pepper told Tony about his daughter's shopping spree whilst Maddy put Morgan to bed.
"I'm not even - yawn - tired yet!"
"Yes you are, and so am I." Maddy laughed, putting the covers over Morgan as she knelt by her bed. "Goodnight, Morgan. Love you."
"Love you too Mazzy." She giggled, and Madeline kissed her forehead before standing up.
"Sweet dreams." She whispered, standing up and blowing a kiss to her sister as she shut the door behind her.
"Have a nice day?" Her father asked as she walked past him back to the elevator.
"Fuck off Tony."
"Madeline-"
"Oh wait, you already did. This morning, after you said you wanted to spend time with your child."
"That's-"
"But I guess I wasn't the child you wanted to spend time with. And it wasn't even Morgan either! Just some random kid who's not even yours." She snapped, returning to her floor as quickly as possible.
