An author's note regarding the recent influx of hate comments.

If you were unaware, I am a young adult who is unable to work due to a disability. For many years now, I have filled my free time by writing fanfictions for various books and TV shows. I have been posting these fanfictions on the internet since 2016 and with the exception of the odd rude comment, people have always been overwhelmingly kind about my books.

In 2022, during a severe battle with depression, I posted my first polyamorous Mikaelson fanfiction. I was so incredibly excited to finally write one after having read quite a few. Unfortunately, this was around the time that the hate comments began.

For some reason, it seems that people are incredibly critical about polyamorous books and feel the need to share their opinions in my comment section. For the most part, I have been able to brush these comments off but with the recent rise in popularity of Blondie, I have been recieving hate comments daily.

I am notified of every single comment on my stories. If you have ever left a comment of one of my books, I have read it. I am lucky to have some incredible and loyal readers who always comment such wonderful things. Unfortunately there are also negative comments and my heart breaks a little bit every time I see one.

I have considered deleting my books so many times because the hate is affecting my mental health. I have held off doing this for as long as possible because I would hate for a select few people to ruin the enjoyment of hundreds of readers.

I have began to implement the block button but unfortunately it cannot take back the words I have already read.

I have already had to block over 20 users, which is absolutely devastating.

I promise that I shall continue to write and post chapters for as long as I possibly can. I'm trying my best but if this continues, don't be surprised if my books disappear.

For those of you who are unaware, examples of negative comments that I have received include:

•Commenting that you've decided to stop reading because you are not enjoying the book

•Saying that the poor is poorly written

•Insulting the intelligence of the author

•Calling the book rude names

•Any homophobic, ableist, racist comments etc

Some friendly reminders:

•I read every single comment

•Keep your rude opinions out of my comment section

•I block first, ask questions later

•I am not looking for any 'constructive' criticism

Thank you for reading.
