CHAPTER FORTY FIVE

My performance on opening night was met with a standing ovation. I suppressed a grin as I stood alongside my cast mates and took a bow. Although I could not see them due to the lighting, I knew that my Mikaelsons stood proudly in the front row, clapping just for me.

The past month since our argument had passed surprisingly smoothly. No evil witches had approached me (likely due to me having a Mikaelson bodyguard with me constantly) and things had been overall peaceful. My relationship with the Originals was also going surprisingly well.

I was regularly intimate with Elijah, Kol and Klaus, the latter of which was attempting to win back my love with frequent oral favors.

My relationship with Rebekah and Finn was somewhat different. Whilst they both engaged in regular romantic relationship dynamics with me, neither of them had voiced any interest in a sexual relationship. I was unsure whether or not they wanted to take things slow or perhaps not engage in sexual acts with me at all. Either way, however, I was extremely happy.

I took one final bow before the curtain came down, blocking me from view. My chest rose and fell rapidly and I grinned as I exchanged hugs with my costars. There was no doubt in any of our minds that the opening show had been a success.

I was still beaming when I came out of my dressing room an hour later, wearing casual clothes. I walked down the hallway purposefully, extremely eager to see the Mikaelsons, who I knew were waiting for me. Much to my dismay, my goal was delayed when the director pulled me aside.

"Miss Gilbert, you were absolutely sensational!" She smiled proudly at me, her hand gesturing as she spoke, "I just wanted to introduce you to Miss Blackwell, who is one of our sponsors."

I looked towards Miss Blackwell, who was a petite blonde woman, who looked to be in her early thirties. She wore a navy pantsuit and her neck was decorated with a string of pearls. She gave me a warm smile, holding her hand out for me to shake. I nodded politely in greeting as I took her hand, which was alarmingly cold.

"It is lovely to meet you, Miss Blackwell," I smiled as I released her hand, "I hope you enjoyed the show."

"Yes, I found it rather fascinating," She replied, her voice smooth and slightly accented. She tilted her head as she studied me, "You are quite the talent, Miss Gilbert."

"Isn't she just!" The director gushed, "We were so lucky to have been able to snatch her up!"

Miss Blackwell chuckled, "Indeed! You are very lucky indeed."

"Well, it was lovely meeting you!" I said, moving to turn around when I felt her hand on my wrist. I looked up at Miss Blackwell questionably, however, her eyes were not on me, they were on my stomach. The side of her lip tilted upwards as she released her hold on me and met my gaze.

"I would love to hear more about your career, Miss Gilbert," She said with a tense smile, "Perhaps we could have dinner together sometime?"

I forced a polite smile onto my face, "As you can imagine, I am extremely busy at the moment, but perhaps sometime in the future."

"Perhaps." She spoke slowly, her smile falling, "It was lovely to finally meet you, Emilia. I am sure that we shall be seeing each other around."

She paced away from me down the hallway before I could reply. The director sent me a smile before she walked away in the opposite direction. There was something off about Miss Blackwell and alarm bells were going off in my head. I wondered if she had anything to do with the witches that wanted my blood for spells.

As I watched Miss Blackwell round the bend and disappear out of sight, Rebekah came around the corner. The blonde vampire seemed to do a double take as they passed and by the time Rebekah reached me, she looked like she had seen a ghost.

"Are you alright?" She asked me and I quickly nodded.

"I should be the one asking you that question," I replied, noting her wide eyes and her deathly pale skin. My eyes flickered between Rebekah and the end of the hallway, "You seem spooked. Did you know her?"

Rebekah visibly swallowed.

"She looked familiar," She admitted, "But I'm probably just seeing things."

I linked my arm through hers as we walked back down the corridor.

"Do you want to talk about it?" I offered and she instantly declined.

"What I want to talk about was how amazing you were tonight!" Rebekah replied, an excited smile forming on her face, "My brothers were absolutely entranced by you, little dove!"

I grinned, "I had a lot of fun tonight."

"Well, the night is not over yet. I'm pretty sure that there will be a lot more fun in store!" Rebekah replied cheekily, "You, my dear, are going to have a line of Mikaelsons at your bedroom door tonight."

"Sounds exhausting!" I chuckled, my cheeks heating at the image Rebekah had conjured in my mind.

"I'm sure you have enough energy."

"Only if I am supplied with plenty of coffee!"

"That can be arranged." Rebekah said thoughtfully as we walked out the theater.

Stopping at the side of the pavement, she looked down at me with a soft smile. Unlinking our arms, she faced me, her hand reaching up to caress my jaw. My breath hitched as her thumb traced patterns on my cheek.

"Thank you, Rebekah," I found myself whispering. She gave me a questioning look and I continued shyly, "I know that you didn't like me initially but I'm so glad that we got past our differences. I really like having you in my life."

Her hand dropped from my face as she looked away from me. She smiled tightly before looking back at me with an unreadable expression. "It is I who should be thanking you, Emilia. You are going to save my family."

Before I could clarify what she meant, Kol suddenly appeared beside us with a giddy, almost childlike, grin. He flung an arm around each of our shoulders and placed a chaste kiss on my lips before pressing a kiss to his sister's forehead. Rebekah scowled at the show of affection and wriggled out of his hold.

"Emilia!" Klaus greeted as he walked up to me alongside the remaining brothers, "You were absolutely stunning, love."

He pulled me away from Kol and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he kissed me slowly. My cheeks were flushed when he finally pulled away and I was pulled into Elijah's arms. Elijah placed a quick but firm kiss to my lips before grabbing my hand and led us to our cars, which were parked just down the road.

"You are an incredible dancer, Emilia." Finn chatted alongside me, "But your poor toes must really hurt!"

I chuckled as I climbed into one of the cars with Finn, Elijah and Kol whilst Klaus and Rebekah got into the other. Due to the amount of us, we were unable to all fit comfortably into one car.

"Are you alright, sweetheart?" Elijah asked as he started the ignition and I nodded.

"I'm perfect! Everything is perfect!"

A/N: I am cackling evilly because I have dropped lots of foreshadowing in this small chapter! I wonder if anyone can spot them all?
