"It's going to be okay." Abigail whispered to herself as she quietly walked down the stairs. She had to leave. She couldn't deal with this anymore. She's been stuck in this family for 4 years now, ever since she was 8, and all she's gotten from them was pain. Not even her father loved her. At first Abigail thought her father didn't believe her but when Nora slapped her in front of him he didn't even say anything. He continued eating like it was nothing.

Abigail took a deep breath and looked around. At this hour everyone was asleep. She knew going out was dangerous in the dark but she didn't care anymore. There was nothing that she hasn't experienced in this house. She thought nothing was worse than being abused and neglected by your own family.

She turned the lock and pulled the door handle down, opening the door. She quickly walked out and closed the door behind her.

She couldn't believe this. She was out. She was happy as happy as she could be after experiencing abuse for 4 years. She sighed and tightened her hold on her backpack.

She started walking in front, she didn't know where she was going. She was alone and scared but she knew she couldn't turn back.

After some time she could hear voices before she saw two men arguing with each other. She didn't pay attention to their words, she just wanted to be invisible so she froze like a statue.

She'd wait till they went and then go on her way. But life had other plans for her. Suddenly, a cat jumped down from the tree near her which made her scream, thinking she was in danger. Both of the men turned towards her at the sound.

"Look what we've got here." One of the men smirked staring at the little girl who was now sitting on the ground. She fell when the cat suddenly jumped in front of her and she didn't dare get up. She was terrified.

"Come here." The man called over his shoulder gesturing for the other man to join as well.

"How old are you kid?" He asked kneeling down in front of her.

Abigail's eyes welled up with tears. She didn't want to get hurt again.

"She looks like a 7 year old." The other man chuckled.

I'm 12 not 7, thought Abigail but didn't dare to reply.

"What do you think?" The first man asked, looking over to his friend.

Second man seemed to be younger than the first one. First man looked like he was her dad's age but second one was few years younger thought Abigail.

Maybe they're nice. She hoped.

Her hopes shattered when the second man spoke "I'll take her first, she's most certainly a virgin, you can take her after me."

Abigail's eyes widened, when the second man frowned and looked over at his friend, she quickly stood up and tried to run. "Catch her!"

She only managed to take two steps before the man grabbed her. "No!" She yelled.

"Shut up little girl or I'll kill you." The man threatened. However, Abigail wasn't afraid of death. She was now sure that there were only evil people left on this earth so she was ready to die. Maybe she'd meet her mother again. She was the only one who loved her.

She started struggling and screaming as the man tried to place her on the ground. "Shut up!" He slapped her again and again until the girl had no energy to scream. "Good!" He laid the girl on the ground and stood up. "You take her and my debt is paid." He said to the second man.

"Excuse me?" The second man grabbed him by his collar, "She's just a stray girl, she doesn't belong to you, you will still pay me but I'll give you two more days because something good came from confronting you."

The first man nodded, scared. The second man left him and walked towards the girl who was barely conscious, his lips turning into a smirk as he was about to kneel and touch her but before he could there was a gunshot.

The man flinched as the bullet didn't hit him but the other man he was just talking to. "What the-" he couldn't finish as the second bullet hit him right between his eyes.

Abigail closed her eyes tired. Maybe I'll see my mom. She hoped as she lost her consciousness.
