"Sister! This child is such a nuisance! All he does is break things, disobey us and he doesn't even study like what any other kids do!" Shinobu yelled while her sister laughed. "Give it some time, Shinobu! He's just adjusting to us. You know his family history right?" Kanye asked while Shinobu got even more irritated. "That doesn't excuse his actions! His family might have left him but he should've behaved himself!" Shinobu stated while glaring at you. "That's not nice, Shinobu. You know that it's not only his family that left him. His 4 adoptive families left him so there's got to be abandonment issues." Kanas said, concerned.

-"if this child misbehaves again then I'll actually lose it!"

-"Don't be like that, Shinobu. I promise that I'll go talk to him."

-"you better do something abt his personality because I can't take it anymore!"

-"I promise that I will but I don't guarantee he's gonna change."

She then turns to you who was just sitting and listening to their entire conversation.

"I heard you've been causing trouble again." Kanae said while you looked down. "Well, it can't be helped, right? You're testing us to see if we'd leave you but too bad, you're staying here whether you like it or not." She said smiling while you looked up at her. "Really? You really mean that?" You said, stunned while she smiled. "Mhm! You're not leaving even if you rob someone, you're staying here with us."

That was the day that Kanae stole my heart (omg not in a romantic way) She was very pretty and kind. Whenever I made a mistake, she would make excuses to defend me but Shinobu wasn't happy about it. I did break a lot of her items and she was fuming at me.

"What's the matter now, Shinobu?" Kanae asked while looking at the mess you created. "THIS CHILD JUST BROKE MY FAVORITE MUG AND HE ISN'T SORRY FOR IT!" Shinobu yelled while Kanae looked at the mug and chuckled. "Shinobu, there's plenty of mugs in the house! I'm sure we can buy a new one."

-"I'm sick and tired of you defending this child already! He needs discipline!"

-"Now, Now, there's no need to scold the child, he did it by accident"

-"Sister! Stop being so soft around him!"

Kanae then patted your head. "Shinobu is being mean, huh? Still mad at you for breaking a mug?" She said cheerfully while Shinobu got more irritated. ""You've got to be kidding me, sister!"

Y/n POV:

Yep, that was my life when I was a child. I used to make a lot of trouble for the Kocho sisters and Kanae would defend me from Shinobu's rage. I thought me and Shinobu wouldn't get along because I thought she hated me with all her heart. Everytime she looks at me, she doesn't even look me in the eye. She looks away and rolls her eyes. But Kanae was there to teach me everything.

But one day...everything changed...

"Y/n sama! We have awful news for you!" The kakushi yelled while you were stunned. "What is it? Shinobu got stuck on a tree because she wouldn't face a frickin dog?" You laughed teasingly while the kakushi sighed and sat you down.

My world crumbled when she told me. She broke the news that Kanae died from fighting an upper moon. I was in denial and thought they were playing a prank on me because I knew Kanae's personality quite well.

"Ahahah, what a nice joke. You got me for a second!" You then stopped laughing when you say the genuine sadness of the Kakushi. "No, Y/n sama...I'm not lying to you and we would never play a prank on you." She said seriously while all the color drained from your face. Suddenly, you then started crying and then blacked out. The kakushi tried asking for help.

A few hours later...

"Huh...? Where am I... ?" You looked around and saw you were in Shinobu's room. "You're in my room, Y/n." Shinobu said. You jumped out of your bed. Her eyes looked puffy. Probably from crying. "Is it really true...?Kanae san actually died from an upper moon...?" You asked with sadness while Shinobu started tearing up and nodded.

I never saw Shinobu cry. I always thought that she was mean and never showed any other emotions than that but now...She's actually crying? It's surprising seeing her show another emotion than being mad all the time.

"Then we should avenge Kanae san! I don't wanna sit around here and do nothing!" You exclaimed while Shinobu stopped crying and gave a serious look. "And you think I haven't thought about that? Of course we're gonna avenge her! I won't let her death be in vain!" She yelled while you were taken aback.

"And let's team up and help each other with that,"

That was the day me and Shinobu actually got along for once. We are preparing for the day that we meet that Upper moon and we can finally kill him and he can get his Karma. But that's still a dream is it...? We have a long way to go before that...
