They finally made it to Lui's grandparents house. They felt the drive was long but it was only a fifteen minute drive. Mr. Simon got out of the car and opened the car door. They stopped at the front door and looked at each other and Lui fixed Gabe's kimono then rested his hands on the taller males shoulders.
"Ok what do you do when we greet them? This is before we take off the zori" The shorter male asked.
"I bow from the waist" Gabe replied.
"And when you give them the gift?"
"I say 'Kono okurimono o uketotte kudasai'"
"Ok that's the two things that I really care about if you want to say the other stuff you can but I'm not gonna force you" Lui said kissing both of Gabe's cheeks and he held his hand while facing the door.
"Are both of you ready?"
"Yes" they both said.
Mr. Simon opened the door and revealed Lui's grandparents. They stepped inside stepping onto the genken.
"Ohayōgozaimasu o bāchan" Lui said while bowing and Gabe bowed after and she bowed to them.
Translation: good morning grandma-
"Soshite ojīchan" Lui said while they both bowed and he bowed back.
Translation: and grandpa
"Ohayōgozaimasu, mago to Gou" Lui's grandma said while cupping Lui's cheeks and then looking at gabe.
Translation: Good morning my grandson and Gabe
"Kono okurimono o uketotte kudasai" Gabe said while holding out the gift.
Translation: please accept this gift
"Ah thank you you're so sweet, Gabe" Lui's grandma said while taking the bag.
"Now you two take off your zori's and follow us" she said.
They took their zori's off facing them to the door. They then followed the grandparents to the tatami area. They slide the door open and it was a big tan room with beige and khaki and there were two bodyguards on one end of the room in front of these big sliding doors. They then went in. The grandparents sat down. While the young couple stood there.
"...? oh yes please sit, sorry for forgetting to invite you to sit" Lui's grandma said.
"No it's quite alright, lui's grandmother" Gabe said while sitting.
"Oh please dear call me, miyoko, grandmother makes me sound old" Miyoko said while smiling.
Gabe nodded his head. The thought never crossed his mind that she was old... she looked young and beautiful. She had black hair up and a hair pin in it, her brown eyes sharp as lui's, and her smile was so pretty. Sure she had a few wrinkles here and there and her hair had white streaks but overall she didn't look as old as she was. Nether did Lui's grandfather.
"And his name is takashi" She said while placing a hand on his under the table.
He looked at her confused because he understood she said his name but didn't know why.
