The day was already in full swing when Ni-ki and I arrived at school. Instead of walking, we had driven in his car, which had become a new routine for us. Ni-ki’s car was one of those sleek, understated models that always seemed to be just a little too cool for its own good.

Sitting beside him, I couldn’t help but notice how natural it felt.

Sunoo’s eyes widened when he saw us pull up. He had been waiting at the entrance, and as soon as we parked, he seemed to have an epiphany.

Jay and Sunghoon had been following us in Jay’s car, and as they pulled in beside us, Sunoo’s confusion deepened.

“Why are they following us?” I asked Ni-ki, raising an eyebrow as I watched Sunoo’s puzzled expression.

“Maybe they’re just being nosy,” Ni-ki said with a casual shrug, clearly not phased by the attention.

As we got out of the car, Sunoo approached us with a grin, obviously trying to figure out what was going on. Jay and Sunghoon soon joined him, their curiosity evident in their expressions.

“Hey, Jiyoo,” Sunoo said, barely containing his excitement. “I didn’t know you and Ni-ki were carpooling now.”

Jay and Sunghoon greeted Ni-ki with a surprising warmth that made me blink. Sunghoon clapped him on the back with a friendly grin, while Jay gave him a nod of approval.

It was a stark contrast to the slightly standoffish attitude they’d shown him before.

“You’re driving Jiyoo to school now?” Jay asked, his tone more relaxed than I expected.

Ni-ki looked slightly taken aback but quickly recovered, flashing them a charming smile. “Yeah, I guess you could say that.”

Sunghoon seemed to be genuinely pleased. “Good to see you’re getting along with Jiyoo for real. Makes things easier for all of us.”

I felt my cheeks warm up a little at the unexpected approval from my brothers.

Ni-ki didn’t miss a beat, though, and gave Sunghoon a friendly nod. “Nice to officially meet you guys, then.”

As we made our way into the school building, Sunoo stayed close by, clearly intrigued by the new dynamics. It was comforting to see my brothers so easily accepting Ni-ki, and Sunoo's presence was like an added bonus, making the whole situation feel a bit more stable.

By lunchtime, I was still basking in the warmth of how well things had gone with the twins. It wasn’t until I reached the cafeteria that another surprising interaction unfolded. Ni-ki was already at our usual table, waiting for me.

But what caught my attention was the sight of Jungwon approaching him with a wide smile.

“Hey, Ni-ki!” Jungwon called out, his voice carrying a friendly enthusiasm.

I stopped in my tracks, watching as Ni-ki greeted Jungwon with an actual smile.

It was a small gesture, but it felt significant given their history. Jungwon’s smile widened as he sat down beside Ni-ki, and for the first time, there was no hint of awkwardness between them.

“Hey, Jungwon,” Ni-ki said, his tone warm. “How’s it going?”

Jungwon shrugged, looking pleased. “Not bad. Glad to see you’re getting along with Jiyoo.”

It was odd, but somehow, seeing Ni-ki and Jungwon getting along made me feel lighter. It was like watching two pieces of a puzzle finally fit together. Jungwon had always been friendly, but his genuine smile made it clear that he was genuinely happy for us.
