This Ni-ki doesn't know just what kind of dragon he's waking up in the form of my brother, Park Jay. He better be thankful that compared to Sunghoon, Jay isn't too keen on confrontation. He likes to observe first before acting, checking if I can manage a guy on my own.

Right now, Ni-ki stands behind me while I open my locker, and I can see Jay watching us from a distance. Ni-ki's eyes aren't on me; they're on Jay, who's clearly assessing the situation.

I snap, "Can you leave me alone?"

"With that attitude, you won't make many friends here, Jiyoo," he says, that infuriating smirk on his face again.

I squint at him. "I saw the cover of your notebook, Park 'Jade' Jiyoo. It's cute, but I prefer Jade. It suits your pretty face, don't you think?"

I roll my eyes and start walking away toward Jay, who's still watching.

"Can I have your number?" Ni-ki asks hopefully, and I give him an unimpressed look.

"So you can bother me more than this? No thanks," I reply, looking back to see Jay nodding approvingly.

"Where you headed to now? The school's big, and having me around will make it easier for you to find your way," Ni-ki catches up to me, bumping his elbow into mine. I close my eyes, taking a deep breath.

I can't hit him. I just can't.

"Listen, I know what you're trying to do, but it isn't working. There are loads of girls who would be dying to, so go to them and leave me alone," I snap, opening my eyes to see he's still there.

"I don't think you should judge someone based on first impressions, but hey, it's your opinion," he says with an understanding smile, shoving his hands in his pockets.

"I don't care," I mutter, rolling my eyes as I head for Jay.

He just laughs, his nose scrunching up. "I'll see you later, Princess," he calls before sending me a wink and walking away.

Jay, who had been watching, gives me a pat on the shoulder, a gentle smile on his face.

"Good job on that one, sis," he says proudly.

Not that they built me to be a man-hater, but they are just being careful. After all, who wouldn't be scared to get hurt if all their life, their dad rejected them?

That's one reason I don't want to associate with a lot of guys right now.

My brothers are already enough for me.

I manage to get into my history class without being late, thanks to Jay practically herding me like a baby chick around the school. Before I enter, he gives me a kiss on the forehead.

"Enjoy your class, sis," he says with a smile.

"See you later," I reply with a wave.

I walk into the class to see most people are already there, but the class hasn't started yet.

"Hi, I'm Park Jiyoo," I say, approaching my new teacher. I give him a smile.

He has long hair down to his shoulders and permanent sleepy eyes, with a pair of small glasses perched on his nose. He looks to be in his late twenties, like my brother Jimin.

"Hi, Jiyoo. I'm Mr. Min," he says, smiling.

"Do I have an assigned seat, or can I sit wherever I like?"

"Anywhere is good. I'm not too strict with seating arrangements, only with the lessons," he tells me. I smile and nod.

As I walk down the rows of students, I hate the looks I get and choose a seat in the very back, hoping to avoid more attention. Dropping my bag to my feet, I'm about to grab my phone when I hear, "Hi, I'm Sunoo."
