I'm sitting on my bed, watching the new movie of Minions on my phone. I finished my homework and had already showered without telling on the twins to Jimin. He wasn't here anyway, probably hanging with Taehyung and Jungkook in their apartment.
And so here I am, tired and closed to falling asleep while the Mega Minions wreaked havoc on the movie on my phone at ten thirty in the evening.
My eyes fluttered close but snap open when Sunghoon barged into my room without knocking, his face flushed with embarrassment. He looked like he was battling with himself over whether to stay or leave.
I raised an eyebrow at him, setting my phone down.
“Sunghoon, what’s up?” I asked, though I had a pretty good idea of why he was here.
He sighed, running a hand through his hair before leaning against the doorframe. “I, uh, I came to say sorry, Jiyoo. About what happened with Ni-ki and Sunoo. I was out of line, and I shouldn’t have let my temper get the best of me.”
I could see the genuine regret in his eyes, and my heart softened. “Thanks, Hoon. I appreciate that. You were being pretty overbearing, but I know you were just trying to look out for me.”
Sunghoon nodded, but he didn’t move. He looked like he wanted to say more, so I waited.
“Actually, I need your help,” he admitted, looking at me with a mixture of shyness and hope. “I want to make it up to Sunoo. I like him, Jiyoo, but I’m not sure what to do. Do you think he likes me back?”
A grin spread across my face as I realized where this was going. “Hoon, Sunoo totally likes you back. You two have been dancing around each other for a while now. If you want to make it up to him, just be honest and say sorry. And maybe do something nice for him—he’s a sucker for sweet gestures.”
Sunghoon’s cheeks turned pink, and he started to fidget nervously. “Like what? Should I bring him flowers? Or maybe some sweets? I don’t want to come off too strong, but I want him to know I care.”
“Flowers are a good idea,” I said, nodding. “Sunoo loves those little details. You could also get him some of his favorite snacks or even a cute teddy bear. Just something that shows you’re thinking about him.”
Sunghoon’s face brightened, and he let out a nervous laugh. “You really think he’ll like that? I don’t want to mess this up.”
“You won’t,” I reassured him. “Sunoo’s crazy about you. Just be yourself, and he’ll love whatever you do.”
Just then, Jay walked in, his eyebrows furrowed in confusion. “What are you two talking about?”
Sunghoon immediately turned bright red, while I couldn’t help but chuckle. “Sunghoon’s planning on asking Sunoo out,” I said, watching as Jay’s eyes widened in shock.
“Wait, seriously?” Jay blinked, taking a moment to process the information. But then, he smiled, shaking his head in disbelief. “Wow, I didn’t see that coming, but hey, that’s awesome. I didn’t know you had it in you, Hoon.”
Sunghoon looked both embarrassed and relieved by Jay’s reaction. “Yeah, well… I like him. And I messed up earlier, so I’m trying to figure out how to make it right.”
Jay clapped him on the shoulder. “You got this, man. Just be sincere. Sunoo’s a good guy, and you two would be great together.”
The three of us sat down on my bed, brainstorming ideas for how Sunghoon could woo Sunoo. Jay even suggested making a playlist of songs that reminded Sunghoon of Sunoo, which made Sunghoon blush even more. We spent a good hour coming up with different ideas, from planning a cute picnic date to writing a heartfelt note.
