Jimin's point of view
I pulled up to their house, expecting to see some sign of life or maybe catch one of the twins lounging around. To my surprise, the place was eerily quiet.
I knocked on the door and called out, but there was no answer. Frowning, I pulled out my phone and texted the twins and Jiyoo, asking where they were.
I didn’t get any replies, which was unusual.
Not one to sit idly by, I decided to drive around the neighborhood, hoping to spot one of them.
My mind raced with possible scenarios—had something happened? Were they just out and about?
The more I drove, the more concerned I became, and it didn’t help that my texts and calls continued to go unanswered.
Frustrated, I called Chanyeol, hoping he might have some insight. “Hey, Chanyeol,” I said when he answered, “I can’t find any of the kids. Have you heard from them?”
There was a pause on the other end before Chanyeol responded, “No, I haven’t heard from them today. Did something happen?”
“I’m not sure,” I admitted. “I’ve looked around but haven’t had any luck finding them. I’m starting to get a bit worried.”
Chanyeol’s voice held a note of concern as he said, “Keep me updated if you find them. I’ll try reaching out to Akira to see if she knows anything.”
I hung up, feeling more uneasy by the minute.
As I turned a corner near their house, I spotted a familiar sight—a park. It was a place they frequented, and maybe, just maybe, they’d be there. I decided to check it out, hoping it would lead me to them.
As I approached the park, my eyes scanned the area, and that’s when I saw them—Jiyoo and Ni-ki sitting together on a bench. They were chatting and laughing, sharing a snack.
The sight of Jiyoo’s happy, giggly demeanor brought a genuine smile to my face.
Ni-ki, with his relaxed posture and engaging conversation, seemed to be making Jiyoo genuinely happy. The way she was leaning in, laughing freely—it was clear that she was enjoying her time.
It was a refreshing sight and one I hadn’t seen in a while. Jiyoo looked so at ease, her usual guardedness melting away in the warmth of the moment.
I didn’t want to intrude on their time together, so I stayed at a distance, simply observing.
Despite my earlier worry, seeing Jiyoo so content and engaged was reassuring. It was a reminder that she was growing up, forming bonds with people outside of her immediate family.
It was something I knew was inevitable, but it was still heartening to see it in action.
As I watched them, I thought about how important it was for Jiyoo to have other people in her life, beyond just her brothers like me. Seeing her with Ni-ki, happy and comfortable, made me realize how crucial it was for her to have friends who made her feel valued and cared for.
I smiled, feeling a sense of relief. It wasn’t about being protective or controlling—it was about wanting Jiyoo to have a full and happy life.
If Ni-ki was someone who could bring joy to her life, then I was more than okay with it.
Deciding not to interrupt, I quietly left the park, my worries eased.
I’d give Jiyoo and Ni-ki their space, knowing that this moment was important for her. It was about time she had other people in her life, people who could bring out the best in her.
