Percy sighed and nodded while he set his jaw and moved a hand through his hair and across his face. "Then I am sorry," he said and shook his head while he moved a hand across his face before he cleared his throat. "I wanted to protect you and make sure that you stay safe, especially since you look exactly like your mother."

I bit back a small snort, and my lip flickered upward with a small smirk. "And I love getting in trouble just as much as she does," I said. I started to walk back to Caroline's tent and gestured for Percy to follow me, for I had a feeling that he wanted to talk to me about something else, and thankfully, he did and continued to walk with me that way. "I am able to get out of whatever trouble I am in without any help from others," I said.

Percy bit back a small chuckle and slowly nodded before he cleared his throat and grew serious. "Now, are you going to teach that to Caroline? If so, I would not advise it, especially since Cooper isn't someone that you should mess with." He gave me a pointed look, and I rolled my eyes and scowled.

"Cooper can get over it," I said before I folded my arms across my chest and huffed. "If he didn't want her to be in trouble so much, then he shouldn't put these stupid rules on her that she should follow."

"Like?" Percy asked and raised an eyebrow in question. He looked amused while he looked at me before he looked forward. "I am sure that you have been able to witness a few of them, correct?"

"I have," I confirmed and nodded while I bit the inside of my lip and furrowed my brows, tucking my head closer to my chest and biting back a tired sigh. "I do not agree with the fact that she is only allowed in this "safe" zone," I said, my voice barely above a whisper while I gestured toward the area we were in. "She needs to see the world and experience it, but she is either stuck in this area or in her tent."

"If she doesn't try to escape." He gave me a pointed look, and I bit back a small snort while I slowly nodded.

"Ya, if she doesn't try to escape." I bit back a tired sigh and shook my head while I moved a hand through my hair and across my face, clearing my throat. "Which reminds me, are you able to do something about that?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question while I glanced at him from the corner of my eye.

Percy looked at me shocked. "Make sure that she doesn't escape?" he asked, his voice an octave higher than normal, and I shrugged and pressed my lips into a thin line. "Why? I thought you would want her with you wherever you have to go."

"For a few things, but I was thinking more of no one able to escape in general," I said while I shrugged and grimaced, "or at least with someone knowing."

Percy pressed his lips into a thin line and narrowed his eyes while he studied me. "Why?" he asked and tucked his head closer to his chest. "Are you afraid that someone is going to tell someone else what is going on and hurt everyone else?"

"Yes," I said and nodded in confirmation. "There is no way in hell that group of people should have gotten in here like that. The barrier isn't that strong, which isn't your mother's fault, but it needs to be stronger so that no one can escape or enter without someone else's permission."

"Cooper already gives people permission to either enter or exit the encampment," he said. "He also knows if someone tries to escape or enters without his permission."

I pressed my lips into a thin line and didn't say a word while a seed of doubt appeared in my mind, for I had no idea if that was true or not.

I wasn't sure if he knew that there had been people entering the encampment until it was too late and knew that we had to make sure that they could never do that again, especially since we had more people here than before.
