Giselle smiled sadly before she slowly nodded and cleared her throat. "Do you think the brownies would be safe for me to eat?" she asked, changing the subject, and I couldn't help but breathe a small sigh of relief.

Thank Goddess...

"Yes," I said and nodded while I took another bite out of it and pushed the container to her. "Does this Tabitha cook?" I asked, covering my mouth a little. "There's been a few dishes that my grandmother makes, and I have been trying to get the recipes for them but can't."

"And why not?" Giselle asked with a small laugh. She took a brownie from the container and looked it over with a look of hesitance in her eyes.

"Because apparently she is worried that I will tell people how to make the food or mess it up," I replied and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "Uncle Percy and Aunt Callie are no help, and Uncle Perry doesn't even care enough to ask."

Giselle chuckled and slowly nodded. "What about your Grandfather?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "Would he tell you?"

I scoffed a laugh and rolled my eyes while I scowled. "No," I said. "That man is whipped. He would do whatever Grams says or asks, except for killing anyone if it isn't unwarranted, and I know for a fact that he won't tell me."

"Have you asked?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

"Bunches of time." I looked toward the bed to see that Caroline looked fine before I looked at the woman with my aunt's face again. "He gives me this little cheeky grin and wink at me before he changes the subject or disappears into thin air and goes to do something else."

Giselle chuckled and took a bite of the brownie, and a look of pure bliss and love appeared on her face, making me feel smug. "Oh, Goddess," she said and covered her mouth.

She blinked and nodded again. "Mmmmm."

"I know right," I said and gestured to the brownies. "That's the one thing that I have been wanting to get from her, but I can't and have to stick with whatever I can make for myself or wait for her to get me some." I wrinkled my nose and pursed my lips in disgust. "It sucks."

The woman with my aunt's face bit back a small chuckle and nodded. "I can see why she doesn't want to give the recipe to you, though," Giselle said and took another bite of her brownie. "MmmmMmmmMmm."

I rolled my eyes and scowled, amused. "Because she is worried that I wouldn't want her to cook for me?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and she nodded in confirmation.

"Exactly that," she said. She furrowed her brows and nodded, covering her mouth, and a look of pure bliss appeared on her face. "This is good, like very good."

I bit back a small chuckle while I slowly nodded. "Told you so," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat, growing serious. "Now, why are you here?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question. "With a bowl of water?"

Giselle cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. She didn't say a word while she continued to eat her brownie, pain and sadness flashing through her eyes.

She looked sullen and worried, and I couldn't help but wonder if this was something she didn't want to do whatever this was but was going to do because it could benefit me in the end...

"Well?" I asked and raised the eyebrow higher in question. "What do you want me to do with the bowl of water?"

Her cheeks turned red, and she looked at her hands after she finished her brownie. "I was wondering if you would allow me to see your powers," she said and looked at me through her eyelashes. "I mean your water powers." She cleared her throat and shifted in her seat. "I know that you are nervous about it, but... I want to see if I can't help get confident with it so that you can help someone else." She looked at Caroline, who was still passed out, before she looked at me again.

I bit back a small sigh and moved a hand through my hair and across my face. "Fire is my main power, though," I said and held out my hand, creating a small fire on it, and she looked at it before she looked at me. "I am afraid of what will happen if this doesn't work."

Giselle furrowed her brows and pressed her lips into a thin line. She cocked her head and studied me, slowly blinking. "Can you at least show me what you can do with water, please?" she asked softly. "I believe in you."

I bit back a small sigh while I slowly nodded and closed my hand into a fist over the flame, extinguishing it. "Ok," I said and nodded again. "I am not sure what I will be able to accomplish, though."

Giselle chuckled and shook her head. "Don't worry about it," she said. "Whatever you do will be amazing to me." She cleared her throat and leaned back in her seat, growing serious. "You have to stop doubting yourself, though, Kyler Rose," she added, raising both eyebrows in unison when she emphasized the word "have", "especially since you are the Siran."

I bit back another small sigh and nodded again. "I know," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted in my seat. I placed my hand over the bowl of water and took a deep breath before I released it with a small whoosh.

Giselle silently urged me to continue and leaned forward toward the table and me. She didn't say a word while she watched me, and I bit the inside of my lip while I stared at the bowl of water.

I took another deep breath before I released it with another small whoosh before I lifted my hand above the bowl and focused on my powers, and surprisingly, the water listened without much fight and became lifted out of the bowl.

Oh, Goddess...

It worked.

My heart skipped a beat before it started to pound hard and fast in my chest, and the water quivered but didn't fall back into the bowl.

Shit...

Gislle breathed a small sigh of relief when I caught the water, and I looked at her with a raised eyebrow, feeling very amused. "You scared me," she admitted. "I thought you were going to drop it."

I bit back a small chuckle and slowly nodded. "I thought I was going to do that as well," I said, moving the water from one hand to the other, and I was grateful when the water listened and circled around my hands like I wanted it to. "I thought I was going to do that as well, and I am glad that I didn't."

I just hope that it meant that I wouldn't fuck it up more in front of Giselle...
