Amerie sighed reading over the text messages from Ryan. Riley had been missing for a week according to his twin sister.

Amerie felt bad, but she didn't want anything to do with the twins again, especially Riley, but at the same time she didn't want Riley to be in danger.

It then sparked the cliffs Riley used to take her to, he found it peaceful there. The only problem was that they were in Nashville and she was in Kansas City, sure she could ask her Mom but it was 8pm, maybe it wouldn't hurt to try.

Amerie knocked on her Mom's office door hoping she'd be in there.

"Come in." Taylor said, Amerie walked in. "You don't have to knock to come in sweetie, I'm not busy or anything, I'm just reading" Taylor smiled

"Just didn't want to disturb in case you were. Well I want to ask you something." Amerie said

"Sure." Taylor said

"Can we go to Nashville tomorrow?" Amerie asked

"I'm sorry sweetie, I'm busy tomorrow and so is Travis maybe next week and we can visit Grandma" Taylor promised.

"Can I go on my own then" Amerie hoped

"Definitely not" Taylor shook her head firmly

"Why do I even ask" Amerie sighed

"Why are you so desperate to go" Taylor chuckled

"Just missing grandma" Amerie sighed

"We can go see her next weekend, I don't have any plans unless something comes up last minute" Taylor sighed

"But why not tomorrow" Amerie whined not understanding why she couldn't go tomorrow, she needed to go she needed to find Riley.

"Amerie, stop like I said I'm busy tomorrow. Have some patience, I'm a busy woman I can't just fly you to Nashville when I have things to do, look I said we can try and see grandma next week, so trust me on that" Taylor said firmly

"You never have time for me anymore!" Amerie yelled.

"Amerie.. where is this all coming from" Taylor sighed, but it was too late Amerie had already stormed off and Taylor knew she should let her calm down instead of chasing after her.

Taylor buried her head in her hands, pushed back her bangs and sighed.

Her phone pinged, a text message from Riley and Ryan's mom. Taylor stood shocked, Riley was missing. She knew exactly why Amerie desperately wanted to go to Nashville.

"Ams" Taylor said knocking gently on her daughter's bedroom door.

No response, Taylor sighed opening the door to see Amerie's window open, her closet door open but no Amerie.

"Shit" Taylor mumbled.

"AMERIE" Taylor yelled hoping for a response, but still none, proving her Amerie had snook out.

Of course she had security all around the house, and it was the door bell that startled her.

Taylor rushed to the door quickly peeking through the peep whole and seeing her security guard stood with Amerie who had a miserable look to her face, her bag being held by the security guard.

Taylor opened the door and sighed looking sharply at Amerie then nodding towards the security guard.

"Miss Swift we found your daughter trying to run away, thought we would bring her back safely. Now stay out of trouble little Swift." The security guard said professionally.

"Thank you" Taylor said and gave a kind smile to her security guard.

Amerie trudged her way inside and slugged her bag down on the floor and attempted to match her way to her bedroom.

"You stay there" Taylor said firmly picking up Amerie's bag that she threw on the floor whilst she let out a sigh.

Amerie turned to her mother and turned red, with embarrassment.

"Seriously! Trying to sneak out, Amerie are you seriously trying to break my trust in you, it's already on thin string! This is exactly why I don't let you go any where on your own, and other reasons, but you just running away and being stupid is the main reason" Taylor scolded

"Look I'm sorry, I just wanted to see grandma" Amerie sighed

"Don't lie to me, Riley's mom texted me saying how he's gone missing, I know you were going to look for him. Look I don't want you to even interact with Riley, he did messed up things to you, you shouldn't have to relive that" Taylor said firmly

"But I might know where he is, and what if he's hurt or something, Ryan said he's been struggling with his mental health a lot. And there's these cliffs he used to take me to and he said they were his quiet space when he needed to think and what if he's there, what if he jumped and died what if he's going to jump" Amerie rambled tears streaming down her face.

"Amerie shh, I get it you're worried, you still care about him I get it, but let his family deal with it you shouldn't put so much pressure on yourself" Taylor said holding Amerie.

"I know, I just I don't know why I care, he did terrible things to me but I still worry" Amerie sobbed

"It's who you are, it's in your nature you always care for people, it's how I raised you, it's what makes you such a lovely girl. But I also know that you haven't fully moved on from him, which is okay it takes time to move on from breakups, trust me I know the feeling I've been through many break ups and all of them have felt different and so hurtful in their own ways, I promise you will feel better some day, it gets easier" Taylor confessed

"Thank you" Amerie said.

Taylor looked down at her phone, another notification, this time the news and Riley's mother.

Riley James, found dead. Suspected suicide, found at the bottom of a cliff.

Taylor looked shocked, and shed a tear, sure she hated this boys guts but he didn't deserve to die, her friend lost a son and his sister lost a brother, a death is never easy.

"What is it." Amerie asked

"They found Riley. Sweetie, he's dead, he committed suicide" Taylor let out a shaky breath.
