The next morning, we both wake up like normal and get dressed for the day. Though I don't have a plan for my day. I don't have anything to do except feel the need to go back with Severus and accept the fact that he was right. I may not be a perfect mother, but I now know that Amia is enough for me. Just one child will do for us. He was right all along I guess.

"Thank you for breakfast. I appreciate it." I say after taking my last bite of his so called famous breakfast platter. Potatoes, eggs, bacon bits, sausage, and some hash brown. It was so good.

"You may always stay for dinner." He says with a wink. I smile at him and lean back in my chair.

"Thanks Mason. But I think I'm going to spend dinner with my daughter. I haven't seen her all week." I mention.

"Do you plan on staying?"

I take in a deep breath and grab the fork to play with it for a while.
"I don't know yet. If I do, then there are some things Severus and I need to talk about if we're going to continue with our, relationship."

"Well, if you ever have second thoughts, you are more than welcome to come back here." He says as a hint. I let out a small laugh and nod my head yes.

"I will definitely think about it, Mason." I respond with a smile.

The both of us continue talking a bit more to pass the time and even got to learn more about each other. Turns out he's only three years younger than me and was obviously the more troubled child growing up. Though he did turn out as a very smart man who sometimes likes to have fun to not make life boring and strict, unlike his brother.

"Well, I should probably go. I don't want to disturb your duties for today." I say while picking up the glass cups to place them in the sink.

"I'm only meeting up with my brother to handle things. Nothing much." He responds while picking up the plates.

"Uhm, what were you going to talk to, Dillard, about? If you don't mind me asking." I ask once he follows me into the kitchen.

"Hm." Mason takes in a deep breath and leans against the counter with his arms folded.
"Dillard is one of the top most richest men I've ever met. He offered me a position to be part of his business as a senior executive. But in order for me to get the position, I needed to marry his daughter." He says a bit annoyed.

"Did you not want to marry her?" I curiously ask.

"Grant was making a deal that included me to not be forced into marrying someone twenty years older than me. And yesterday, he successfully achieved the deal but in order for me to accept the position, I needed to speak with Dillard himself. But the more I thought about it, the more I realized that it would mean leaving this place and exchanging it for a more strict and meaningless life. That is not something I want."

"Oh. So you're staying?"

"I'd rather much do so. And I'm rather grateful for getting the chance to escort you out yesterday in order for me to avoid the deal. So I'd like to thank you for that." He says with a soft smile.

"Oh, then you're welcome."

Mason chuckles under his breath and leads me towards the front door.
Though while getting my sweater, I start to think about what he said about not wanting to have a strict life. He just wants to have some fun during work hours, off work, and any time he can. And it reminds me of someone.

"Hey Mason? Can I introduce you to someone, tomorrow? I think you'll like her."

"Is she twenty years older?" He teases.

"Of course not. She's a year younger than me. So just two years older than you, I think. A year and a half maybe. But her name is April. She always makes life more fun whenever she's around. And she may not be rich, but I can tell you her heart is made of gold. She's an opportunity you don't want to miss." I explain.
